Thanks for the answer Ruud. I too tried both antenna and cable. Also, I tried different sensitivities. It did not help. What happens is that scanning gets "comlpeted" really quickly - takes about 10 seconds. When I used the original RC1 (the one where analog TV works), it took much longer to scan.

The other thing is that after I attempt an analog scan, the TV server configuration utility gets messed up - I cannot select any other option from the main menu - it is "stuck" on the analog tuner. None of the buttons work, so I have to kill the process to close the application.

My guess is that it has something to do with MP not being able to find an audio filter - ARE2 has similar entries in his log files.

Hi kuku,

Exactly the same on my side, even with the interface hanging after trying to scan and I agree it looks like MP can't find the correct filters/encoder sinc the last two svn releases, because when I reinstall svn 19288 it starts to work again (analog scanning and tv). Filters aren't touched during reverting by me!

Maybe a Developer can tell whats going on? Or maybe what was changed since svn 19288 ?

:D Regards

PS: Filter are correctly installed and working because with other software they are working (are compatible) without problems!

Spooky

I have been having problems with stuttering HD-channels for a long time, and it seems pvkleeff has found the reason for this here : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/watch-edit-videos-104/problem-hd-channels-live-recordings-41173/

Just poking around in the sourcecode, I found that H.264-video is hardcoded to 720x576 in DirectShowFilters/TsReader/source/mediaformats.h

Since I have no problems playing the HD-recordings in Windows Media Player or watching live HDTV in FireDTV, and the graphs look exactly the same (except input resolution), I guess this must be the problem.

I have no other serious problems with MediaPortal, but this bug annoys me since I can't watch EURO 2008 in HD :)
Oh, it's hardcoded. So currently the TsReader isn't detecting a false format, it is simply unable to detect the right one at all :/

Problem scanning astra dvb-s with hvr-3000

    Hi,
i have for a couple of svn's problems scanning dvb-s on astra 19,2° with my hvr-3000. Channel scanning always stops at tp 17, freq. 11739000 with no signal; all tp after tp 17 have no signal as well. Can anybody confirm this please?

    The tv.log says:

So has this SVN been locked out fully? I didn't get an answer to whether I should spend my time trying...

We are discussing internally if beta SP should be locked out or warned only...

    Simone

Please don't lock people out. I suggest either making it hard to install (example run setup with command switch from dos prompt) or leaving the onscreen warning & adding something to the log files (example 'warning - this operating system is not supported')

we all should be on the same page.. can't waste anymore of the DEV's valuable time with some crippled logs

How does adding a line of text to a log file make it crippled? If anything, it makes it easier for Devs to spot unsupported systems and stop looking.

Devs, I would really appreciate it if you would consider giving us some way of installing. A heartfelt 'please' don't lock me out of your great software. The alternatives (reverting to XP, building own version from source) are too painfull for a recent father of twins (had to get that in there :D)

BTW I'm referring to Windows Server 2003, not a beta SP. Perhaps the rules for that OS will be different?
