Here's the buffer.
Turns out, the problem is only with channels that currently "don't have any data".

These channels won't have any sound when played "separately" and will crash MP when played by switching from a working channel.

Could you test the attached TsReader.ax? Fixes the crash on my dev PC (at least on graphedit).

^^ And me again: Found another issue...
If i cut recordings with ProjectX and want them to play inside Mediaportal it is working until the first cut.
Then the recording suddenly stops.
Using +30 Seconds on the remote and the video jumps to the cut and plays again well until the next cut comes...

I have uploaded a sample to ftp.team-mediaportal.com
It's named ProjectX_cut.ts

P.S: Other programs like VLC play it like a charm

Fixes my TV Channel changing problems too. Thank you!!

*EDIT: Spoke too soon. When I quit MP and started it back up I got an unable to play a timeshift file error of some sort that I didn't write down...

I get lots of this. This error is quite common when "quickly" switching channels (a few per minute). Especially common for audio channels.
Additionally, I get lots of freezes with MP UI totally unresponsive. For example when switching to another channel, the video will freeze, audio will play, but MP UI won't respond to any input.

A few minutes ago I also had the weirdest problem:
Seems my remote transmitted two numbers for one key press (thus selecting channel 44 instead of 4).
MP detected this and popped up the OSD, dsplaying that a switch to channel 44 will take place imminently.
However, the switch never happened.
Entering channel numbers didn't work any more, but next / previous did (until a few channel changes later everything just froze...)

I'm beginning to suspect that MS DTV-DVD codec that I'm using may not be a really good solution for me. It tolerates faults in the stream very poorly, often just crashing.

More about MediaPortal Client Crash when changing channel.
TV Server running on Windows XP, Client running on Windows 7 x64.
Changed channel to RUV and I get an Windows error that the program has stopped but it starts Live TV anyway with the error notification on top.

Also happens on Windows Vista Client. See in Streaming Server.log on the TV Server that the Streaming Server fails to open the ts file.

Tried by using UNC paths between Client and Server and did not see this problem then.

Hi

the new tsreader fixes my channel changin crashes

I have some codec problems that I can't understand. Have installed Hali Media Splitter and fddshow and trying to play an xvid avi file from a network drive. My system seems to whant to load the whole file before playing.

When playing that file with Windows Media Player it starts immediately.

TVSeries shows me 16:9, SD, xvid, Sterio, Mpeg3Audio and HDTV icons for this file.

Has anyone an explaination for me ?
Is there another forum for this or does this differ in SVN builds ?

As it seems we now have a working tsreader, I changed from 15.10. to latest tsreader from 6.1. - thanks tourettes!
I can confirm, that channelswitching and codechandling is working so far and except the problems with timeshiftjumping all seems quite fine.

Nevertheless I have a question about RTSP use:
Is it normal, that channelchanges are slower with RTSP than NonRTSP?
Made some measurements (Multiseat, FireDTV-S, both server and client on XPsp3) by changing the corresponding debug option on/off:

NonRTSP:
ARD-HR3 1,15 sec
ARD-SAT1 2,0 sec

RTSP:
ARD-HR3 1,45 sec
ARD-SAT1 2,4 sec

I have read, that NonRTSP is not officially supported, but it seems to be
- faster and
- makes thumbcreation in multiseatenvironments possible
So can you please explain, why regardless of this RTSP should be preferred over NonRTSP?

I can't to view/listen any station. See only categories.
