Quick update: just ripped a movie with DVD43. So we do have a working solution via this method. Some work still to do but basically the hardest part done.

When I use your Core.dll your pugin works, but I movie database is not playing movies...

When I select a movie from shares it plays.
When I select a movie from the database it does not play.
(if I use original core.dll) all works but I have no progress bar when i´m ripping...

New beta for internal ISO writer testing before 'official' release - some testers needed. It will work with Vista, XP SP3 without any extra installations, see link for other version support. You may still want to check what is this all about Microsoft IMAPIv2. Using this same interface it will be quíte easy to add burning capability also. Hmm... MP's internal burner can be better and then no external progs needed. But that is a different story.

    Corrected bugs:
    - MPEG4 is now 2 pass again
    - stacking support was completely missing. I thought that core will handle that automatically. It will ask if stacking wanted when close enough movie found in database

    Know issue:
    - canceling is not yet working correctly with internal iso

I guess that you are using a much newer SVN build than these precompiled dlls are. Everybody should use patch files instead and compile needed files. Anyway there is now image file stacking correction added to development forum so maybe it will be added to SVN someday and we can get rid of these.

    yet another post

Well, I like to figure things out on my own and not have to post but I'm flipping out. How do you get the movies to play by simply clicking on them in the my movies section? The only way I can get them to play is by selecting the shares view then selecting the movie. If I select any other view, such as "Title" and click the movie another at all happens. I can even hit f3 and then click play and nothing. The only way to play is if I select a DVD that has multiple files then select one of those DVDs. I have installed the mediaslayer and have updated the DLL files. What on earth am I doing wrong? I was also completely unable to find any good setup instruction. Even a basic, put this files here and this file here would be nice. Thanks in advance and FANTASTIC plugin. I am excited to get this baby to work right. I have The latest MP RC2.

Correction, I can not load anything in Shares anymore. Simply shows a progress bar that never stops and follows me all around media portal if I try to select shares. The absolute only way I can get the move to play is if it is movie in the data base that has multiple files. Ughh, how do I se it? It used to work until I updated.

    Manfred:
    - How exactly do I use patch files?

    - Another small problem I found is this:
I rip a music CD to a folder that is listed in my Music database.
    Ripping is sucessfull.
    Go to music.
The album is not yet added to the DB, I have to go to shares and scan... (Autoupdate on change is shares is on, but does not seem to work..)

Any idea how to get the albums added by auto?

    Media Portal 0.2.3.0
skin: BlueTwo wide (I'm using MediaSlayer.xml provided by dino2008)
    MediaSlayer_10b.mpi (installer)
    DVDFab5060.exe (installer)

I'm only getting started with MediaPlayer, so forgive my ignorance. (managed to get Streamzap + Logitech Harmony 525 + Girder working together, looks promising so far)

I'm trying to rip an audio CD. I get up to the part where it shows the album cover. (very impressive!)

When I confirm to continue, MP crashes with the dialog "Media Portal closed unexpectedly". (Microsoft bug report pops up, if you know how to disable MS bug reporter, please let me know.)

I have tried to use MP test tool to produce a log.zip (not sure if I used it correctly, all buttons except the bottom one were grayed out, so I used the drop down menus instead, also the MP test tool wouldn't launch MP)

    Okay, here come the questions:

From what I can understand in the Installation and ReadMe.txt, Monochrome assumes a ton of dependencies not included in the standard 0.2.3.0 install, many of which I don't want. It seems like an alternative distro of MP. Can MediaSlayer be used with the standard 0.2.3.0?

What does SVN stand for? I had a look at SVN_Introduction - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation) and didn't understand what Albert78 is trying to say.

Thanks for taking the time to read my question. :)

I also tried the same setup and Dlls and latest SVN are not compatible anymore. Maybe dlls have to be removed from first post as causing too much trouble. I hope that image stack support ends to SVN. Share view can be/is buggy.

#1 See Contribute section and there development. You will need TortoiseSVN, Visual Express etc.
#2 It is not implemented to plugin (yet). I was using the share view so didn't notice that.

Good post with relevant info. Simply as that: too old MP. Plain 0.2.3.0 will not work as this plugin is using core resources from later SVN versions. Why don't you upgrade to RC2 + SVN?

SVN, subversion, shortly means a repository tool for sw development. The most important part is that development can be done at the same time from different locations. MP SVN is a build which is compiled from that repository with the most current changes. There is a section in forum for those builds (installer included - easy to update).
