Thanks for the reply Manfred! I had actually wondered if the two passes with the delete inbetween was the expected behaviour.
As for the display only showing Pass 1 and 50%, is there a way for me to fix this or is this something that you have to do (or can it be done?)

Please help. I have just installed the latest version of MP 1 and MediaSlayer. Installed DVDFab 5 Platinum, I have Daemon Tools installed, Mencoder installed, and the Monochrom skin, have all the paths set for those too. I am trying to rip a dvd to iso, but it doesn't do anything. It detects that a dvd is inserted at least, but click rip does nothing.

I do have debug enabled in the general settings, but using the search tool in windows turns up nothing for the log file. It is probably worth noting that I am running XP and I have already tweaked it down pretty good to speed the machine up a bit. I might be missing necessary services or something.

When ripping to ISO, mediaslayer uses all the settings as per DVDFab. Have you attempted ripping to iso using that software by itself yet? Perhaps there's something in there that's screwed up. If ripping inside of DVDFab doesn't work, that's your issue.

I was able to get to the log. I noticed it would pop-up breifly to let me save a log if I chose to switch to configuration. It is attached.

My goal here is to save already burned backups of my movies to iso and have them accessible in MediaPortal in their full mode (well 4.5Gb disc mode at least) on disc. I think thats what this plugin does for me. Would be nice to have access to my DVD Collection from a remote with them all on some kind of gigantic terabyte drives or 2. Since the discs are already burned, there are no worries about copy protection now, so I can rule that out.

I think my problem might be confusion as to how to configure the drives, as in where to look. My DVD drive right now is drive F. What, if any, settings should I specify in DVDFab. I thought this would call the program with some arguments automatically, but maybe not. Should MediaPortal look at specific target directories lined up with DVDFab. I have tried with Daemon Tools running and without. Should that be running or not, and how should it be configured (again, the real drive is F).

In the logs I have, all I have done is open MediaPortal. It opened automatically to MediaSlayer. I then opened the disc drive, closed it again. This prompted me to rip it. I clicked to do so. Then nothing. After that I chose to go to configuration from the window bar on top (not in full screen mode to get that), grabbed the log and here I am.

My lazy butt would love to get this working. Any continued assistance would be greatly appreciated. I thank you for your time.

So I seriosly don't mean this to be some kind of "better than you" kind of computer guy dork post . Justsay I am not a total novice, but an above average computer person, that's all. I am the most MS saavy, but I am not bad. Ido have a BSCS and Masters in Computer Science, have 6 years Java programming experience with my SCJP and 7 years in Linux system administration. I can honestly feel the backlash from all of that mini-resume. I honestly don't mean it in the wrong way. I am just saying I have put in many, many hours trying to get this darn thing to work and I'm not some kind of novice newbie to computers.

For those of you that have, huh? Wow, luck, God, I don't know. I'm sure my problem is nothing short of a minor oversite or glitch. I would loooove to get this working. In fact, getting DVD's to rip with AnyDVD from my main HTPC would be awsome. Right now the promise of this fantastic, one-of-a-kind htpc plugin is to be able to rip dvd's and have them accessible from my htpc would be awesome.

I just completely removed mediaportal, including all settings. I re-installed it with mediaslayer and monochrome 2.2. I've got mediaslayer available under the plugins. I point it to:

C:\Program Files\DVDFab 5\DVDFab.exe

When I hit rip DVD, literally nothing still happens. What is going on?

See my previous post, there is a correction build for that. Did you tried it?

Uhhmmm... I don't hang around here daily, so don't expect to have answers immediately. And be pleased that somebody tried to help you.

Logs didn't show any particular problem but one clarification needed. You are running plain RC2? This plugin is compiled against RC2 + SVN (can't remember which one). There can be a core issue then as this plugin is heavily dependent of core functions. If I remember correctly somebody else had this kind of behaviour also. I adviced to use compiled dlls from the first post or install SVN. I also asked is it working now and nobody replied to that. So I'm not sure if it helped or not.

I have learned one thing - do not provide any plugins for SVN or other R&D versions as this is a mess even if plugin needs something from there. So, from now on no new versions until RC3 or 1.0 is released and nothing between.

I am using the 1.0 RC2 release and from the first page of this forum 10c.mpi. The behavior is the same when I choose to rip the main movie, nothing. I am sure I have the correct path to mencoder configured which I assume would start right up.

If I were to get this working, I would be happy to create a guide to help others as I am sure many have viewed this system and abandonded it. If you google this plugin you'll find that many are interested but abondon it due to difficulty getting it to work right now.

1.0C isnt working with AC3... The plugins looks like it's fine but when I press rip nothing happen.
The setup is the same as the one i had working only change is an update to RC3..

Manfred: is there a way to rip the movies inside a folder with a structure like : Movie Name\MOVIENAME.ISO?
This is because I have my movies inside a folder, so i can use the same structure when i rip in mediaportal. I am looking for this option, because i have the shares view and the movies arent in alphabetical order, because the folders are in first place and then apear the files in this views.
All my movies ripped with mediaslayer appears at the end of the list. Thanks in advance.
