ok, with the internal ripper, it won't rip to completion. it gets to 99% and hangs. this is with the 1.0f .dll file. It was also EXTREMELY slow to get an .iso file. the movie I was working with, I have done before and it took about 15 minutes to rip the .iso file. with this, it was much longer.

Also, would it be possible to move the "get cover art" option from the advanced gui to the basic gui.

what about adding support for IMGBURN? It does a great job for .iso files

Here, here to ImgBurn!!! I prefer that to DVDFab (although my DVDFab experience is limited to this plugin only). It doesn't publicly do the intermediate steps (no temp dir where files are written to). I rip across the network to a server and DVDFab first builds the folder structure locally and then rips to iso across the network, whereas ImgBurn goes directly to iso across the network. That's my .02, I'm not a dev, so I don't know how hard it is to code

As far as the internal ripper, I haven't tried it, but can if you need me to. Do I have to install a windows component to make it work, or is it built in (Vista Home Premium x64)?

Blue 3 Skin Support

Is anyone developing this MediaSlayer plugin to support the default skin Blue 3 and Blue 3 Wide?
How difficult would it be?

ok, I found another couple of issues.

this is on version 1.0e

first, this is a clean install from a format of the drives through OS install and clean MP install. NOTHING has been imported or moved from a different computer or older version.

first issue. No option appears in the media portal configuration section to select the internal DVD ripper. it is listed in the advanced GUI within MP, but I can't select it as my default within the MP config.

second issue. I am getting "cd ripping failed: Illegal characters in path" when I try to rip the cd "public enemy - Muse sick-n-hour mess age". I get this on track 4 which shows up as "What side you on?". It looks like the use safe names part is not working. the ? whould be removed or replaced. that is the character that I think is blowing up the rip.

Installation problems with FAB DVD

Hello,

I just try to get the plugin to work on RC4 TV Server, but I failed up to now.
I used the plugin with RC1 and the standalone version and it runs well.

If I use the free FAB HD encrypter, the program ask always to select the HD enycryer (free version).
I do not know, If the plugin does not have the problem.

If I use the Mencoder selection for Avi converting, my system hangs.
(can I use AnyDVD + Mencoder ?)

How long does a converting take with Mencoder for a normal DVD ?

I also try to translation the plugin texts for a german version of MediaSlayer, most of
the texts are fine, but the "free space on disc" ... I do not find in the MediaSlayer.xml.

Can it be a problem, that I just copy the Skin from "Monocrome" to Blue3, that the ripping do not work?

Hope to get help, because it is a great plugin, which worked on the old configuration
very well. My wife could handle the ripping of music without any questions.

I hate dvdfab. and that company. I do not and will not use ANY of their software. Enough rant, though.

I upgraded to the 1.f dll and virtual keyboard works. Ripped the movie "Incredibles". It took almost 1.5 HOURS to rip the .iso. and it still hung at 99% so I never got a complete successful rip. I installed imgburn and got a successful ISO rip in 17 minutes 33 seconds. I didn't check to see if the internal rip option was available in the config with this 1.f .dll

Music ripping works GREAT for any that does not have any special or "illegal" characters. I still get that illegal characters in path error mentioned above with the 1.f dll

Is it possible to use
Mediaslayer only with Mencoder ?

I jut would like to create only .avi file of the DVD, if it does not take longer than one hour.

Just tried this for the very first time, so please excuse me for askin any dumb questions.
Installed everything ok, ripped a CD just fine so I was already quite happy. Then I started testing ripping a DVD. Download MPlayer and copy pasted mencoder.exe to mediaportal dir and configured the plugin to look there. Also tried out DVDFab 5 and configured this plugin to the dvdfab.exe (right?).

DVD ripping just hangs on "analyzing DVD". Am I doing something wrong?
Using RC4 with Blue3 (monochrome 4x3 skin, whcich popped up on the files dialog)
