there is a post for a 1.f version dll within the past 2 or thre pages. use that one and it won't hang at the start. let us know if it hangs at the end, though.
thx mlburgoon but I still have the same problem with the hanging on "analyzing DVD".
I tried all the config settings for DVD ripping (internal, mencoder and dvdfab) and all have the same result.
Your new dll's solved my music database problem However, I indavertently copied (didn't want to, must not have been paying attention) configuration.exe and it crashes instantly. Do you by chance have an unpatched version? [NEVERMIND, see below] BTW, the event log logs the crash as
Code:
Event ID 1001
System.BadImageFormatException
Thanks,
Andy
[Oh, lord thank you for ShadowExplorer. It's a nice little tool to manage shadow copies of files on Vista if you're cheap and didn't buy Ultimate]
How about an option to skip imdb once you've started the process. Example: I'm ripping a DVD and didn't uncheck coverart lookup. This particular DVD isn't going to find anything (It's a DVD of a Christina Aguilera concert), but I can't get past the imdb lookup stage and must select info that I know doesn't match. Maybe it could be a three strikes and you're out rule? If the imdb fails 3 times, there is an option to skip it. BTW, virutal keyboard now works when you want to change the share name. In my case (since it seemed to work for everyone else) I think this was a core.dll issue as the one I was using was from RC2. The 1.0 final core.dll fixed the issue, I think. I'm ripping a DVD right now and I'll let you know how that works.
Configuration.exe is just for cosmetic reasons so even without it VCD functionality is supported. Will check sometime why it is crashing.
Have you hit esc or back button when a list of 'movies' is displayed? It should leave the selection empty and nothing will be imported to db. So you can always leave the IMDB feature on and just ignore the selection.
yeah, I figured that out by accident one day. It would be nice to have a question though. My non-tech wife does not always get things the first time.
maybe like this.
1. I hit "rip disc"
2. it pops up a question "Would you like to look this disc information up on the internet? YES\NO"
3. it prompts the disc name question
4. it either starts ripping or looking up based on the answer from question 2.
nice easy flow and (i think) pretty easy to do. I really need to start digging in to how these plugins work and the coding behind them. I haven't had to code in C or versions of C in quite a few years. It would probably do me some good.
For the testing I have done, I was able to rip the "chronicles of narnia" in less than 10 minutes with IMGBURN to .iso file. AWESOME!!! THANKS for that support. I was as pleased as a pig in a mud puddle when I saw that. No hangs. worked great.
I had no issues with the illegal charcters in ripping music like i did before.
things look good (really good) so far. will post if I find any issues. I did not apply the info in zip, just the 1.f mpi file.
Is there a difference in terms of video quality between imgburn and mencoder?
I used vlc-player to test. The shown movie window of the avi is much smaller than the window of the iso (both zoom 1:1). The resolution of the avi is 640*460, the resolution of the iso i don't know to read but it could be near the double. Is there something to configure before ripping?
