Mine takes 39 MB, but for me it's not really a big deal. I really don't have an answer to why it needs so much ram.

    And BTW.... I LOVE NIPPLES!!!!!

I think that is related to the .NET Framework. I made a very small tool to send one simple sql query to a database every x minutes. This tool uses 19 MB RAM.

But like ASiDiE already said the RAM usage of configuration.exe should not be that important, because you just use it for a short time.

Mmm, i think thats it, cause i've also developped in .net framework once...and it was just a stupid small executable but it also used aroun 15 megabytes...

    thnx

The Configuration.exe file is currently tied very closely with the MediaPortal.exe. They share many libraries and so when starting Configuration.exe there is some level of overhead with code used in the main application.

Also, .NET loves to allocate memory :)

MP Itself takes between 90 - 140 MB on my machine.
But using it on a dedicated machine with 1GB of RAM, i don't care at all.
It could use 300MB if it likes.

Maybe you have just to create a minimalistic skin that contains only really small black and while textures :)

Also remember that .NET framework uses garbage collection and it won't release all unused memory right away if there is free memory available in the system (this is done for performance reasons).

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

I made some updates to the Wiki page describing the <import> and <include> tags, including adding a couple of new xml examples. For the first example, I highlighted the example text and eventually found the location in the menus where I could select the CODE macro to have the example text formatted as a code example. So far, so good...
