    Hi,

Can you post the logs from the Client?

The errors in these logs are from 7-7 mostly, and the only error from yesterday is related to ComSkip path for the .exe (if i'm correct). Please check that setting, or disable the ComSkipLauncher plugin if you don't use it.

Wow there's a lot of errors in there.
In any case, the cause of the not responding is that TV Server is still trying to tune.

When you try to tune a channel, TV Server tries all available tuners and all available tuning details if necessary. MediaPortal will not respond during the time that TV Server is tuning... and that could be an extensive length of time if there is a problem.

To take BBC Four HD as an example...
That channel has 9 identical tuning details. Based on your settings it could take up to 9 [tuning details] x 1 [tuner] x 10 [second, PMT timeout] x 2 [PMT retry] = 180 seconds = 3 minutes to try and fail to tune that channel.

ITV HD has 25 tuning details; Channel 5 has 41.
That is excessive. I don't know for sure how or why you're getting so many tuning details - maybe you use the import/export section to import your channels without deleting existing channels? Anyhow my [strong] suggestion would be that it is time to delete your channels and do a clean rescan.

Why is TV Server failing to tune?
Not so sure about that. The problem seems to have started abruptly at about 18:20 on the 16th.

Please try restarting the TV service.

....... disable the ComSkipLauncher plugin if you don't use it.

Did that....and MP now works again (for the minute!).....but I suspect the problem is also related to the tuning errors spotted by mm1352000

the cause of the not responding is that TV Server is still trying to tune.

Is there a MePo setting that can be adjusted here.....or might the problem be with the card (TBS6922) itself!!?

Good to hear it's running again. ;)
If you run into problems again, let us know and please post new debug logs.

True....but just counting down now until the next time!!
This 'not responding' thing happens frequently....then somehow corrects itself!!

Occasionally, I've resorted to a full reinstall to get past this.....so if there's a way that I can be a bit more pro-active, and prevent this from re-occurring
....then that would be most welcome!!

    Thanks again
    Kev

    There's no silver bullet.

..or might the problem be with the card (TBS6922) itself!!?
I'm certain there is absolutely no problem with the card.
The fact that many of your channels have multiple unnecessary tuning details is the problem you should focus on.

Occasionally, I've resorted to a full reinstall to get past this.....so if there's a way that I can be a bit more pro-active, and prevent this from re-occurring
....then that would be most welcome!!
As I said already: I strongly recommend you delete all your channels and rescan from scratch so you lose all those extra tuning details. Having 1 tuning detail per channel instead of 9, 25, or 41 will make a huge difference - not responding for up to 20 seconds instead of multiple minutes.

If you want to reduce the 20 seconds even further the reduce the PMT timeout here:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...n/TV-Server_Configuration/06_General#Scan_Tab

A safe value may be 2 or 3 seconds => 4 or 6 seconds not responding.

OK....scanned channels....and now have XMLTV working again...:)

Have noticed that certain channels...ie BBC Four...have not appeared in the channel list....Sooooooo....is there a simple way to scan again for channels like this that I missed the 1st time?

I'm assuming that if I just re-scan.....then I'll be storing lots of duplicate channels.....:(

Is there an idiots guide out there that I might have missed??

    Thanks for help so far.....

    Kev

After many hours of troubleshooting I've given up and accepted that it's just "one of these things" when using madVR for watching live TV. I've now ticked the box to "Use EVR for LiveTV", with a default display refresh rate of 50Hz. In combination with tweaking some of the Nvidia 3D settings for the MP executable only, I now have a...
