Re-tuned and all was well....for a while!
Once again...MePo becomes more unresponsive over time ...and freezing frequently!

I've taken a look at the error logs.......can see there are loads of errors....haven't a clue as to how to deal with 'em...:(

Have attached them...and hope someone might comment?

    Thanks.

I don't see anything obviously wrong with the TV Server. The entries in the error log appear to be relatively old, and the TV Server itself seems to be tuning channels quickly.

Are you able to be more specific - date and time - about when MediaPortal last froze/became-unresponsive and what you were attempting to do at the time?

Perhaps an hour ago......I was attempting to select a program from thye TV guide!....all was unresponsive.
When this occurs....which can be several times a day....I use task manager to close MePo....then restart, and go on until the next freeze!!!

    Okay, seen two things.

    [2014-07-25 23:44:47,076] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - VMR9: added Video Mixing Renderer 9 to graph

VMR 9 is only meant for use with XP. Please use the EVR.
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...ration/9_Codecs_and_Renderer/3_Video_Renderer

[2014-07-25 22:30:20,148] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - DirectShowUtils: First try to insert new audio renderer MediaPortal - Audio Renderer

Please don't use the MediaPortal audio renderer for live or recorded TV unless you understand the consequences. It is fine for videos; for TV, the default DirectSound device is recommended.

Please fix those two things and see how you go.

.I was attempting to select a program from thye TV guide!
    BBC Two HD perhaps?
I see MP tell TV Server to tune that channel, which it does successfully. However it looks like MP fails to start showing the channel... and then you restart MP 15 minutes later:

Here's the thing. At 10:30pm it looks like you started BBC One Yorks successfully:
    [2014-07-25 22:30:19,353] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - TVHome.ViewChannelAndCheck(): View channel=BBC One Yorks

At 10:38 it looks like somebody turned the TV off while MP was still "playing" BBC One.
Due to your configuration (ie. "stop playback on removal of an audio renderer" unticked) MP attempts to keep playing BBC One.
Then the TV got turned back on at 11:14 (just before you try to view BBC Two HD):

[2014-07-25 23:14:17,689] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer NVIDIA High Definition Audio removed

    [2014-07-25 23:14:17,742] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer RX-V771-3 (2- NVIDIA High Definition Audio) removed
[2014-07-25 23:14:20,846] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer NVIDIA High Definition Audio connected
[2014-07-25 23:14:20,870] [Log ] [MPMain ] [INFO ] - Main: Audio Renderer LG TV-3 (2- NVIDIA High Definition Audio) connected

Then there's the BBC Two HD failure.

I don't know why you've unticked that "stop playback..." option, but MP is not going to be able to handle the above situation well. I'd suggest you either tick that option or make sure you stop TV before turning the TV off.

After many hours of troubleshooting I've given up and accepted that it's just "one of these things" when using madVR for watching live TV. I've now ticked the box to "Use EVR for LiveTV", with a default display refresh rate of 50Hz. In combination with tweaking some of the Nvidia 3D settings for the MP executable only, I now have a...
