And I noticed in TV Series, the big episode thumbnail is gone. Did not have much time to check out if it could be my setup, and will not before tomorrow.

Edit - apparently it was my setup, as today it works

The MyHome file has the buttons to close / shutdown etc in a weird spot compared to the 1280 version. In the attached file they are back in the top-left corner instead of floating around top-middle.

Please note: I have not done many, if any, TV screens. I don't use this function in MP anymore. I think I'll need some help here. Somebody offered earlier but I' too tired to read through the thread again. I'll catch up tomorrow.

Yep that was me. And I still am willing to help out. As I am completely sold to this skin, and have a multiseat TV-server configuration, I already started changing some screens. First one is the mytvserverhome.xml

Screenshots are, in order:
1. MyTVHomeServer from last package
2. MyTVHomeServer from the 1280 package
3. My suggestion for MyTVHomeServer

I already started changing some screens.

Thanks Furetto, keep 'em coming ;). I just noticed the menu slide image is missing from behind the menu buttons.

I think that is just because I happened to click somewhere else before making the screenshot. And thus it lost focus and thus it disappears... See new screenshot below, with focus this time

I have a question for you about the TV Guide. I know there's been in the past a lot of discussion about how many lines it should have. The ideal amount of lines is different for every user.

But as you can see below, the old TV Guide (here my personal 11-line version) filled the whole width of the screen. Your new version only fills the center part. This means that each entry has less screen-real-estate to display.

I thought of modifying the new version to fill the whole width again.

  • any reasons not to do this ?
  • what margin needs to be kept at least for the overscanning issue ?

Also Reptile, can you adjust the mouseover sensitivity location on the left menu when in My Videos/Other screens that use side to side graphical list? The far left selection is hard to get to with mouse without triggering the left menu. In large icon view...if you got to select the 'back to shares' arrow, maybe 10% of it is usable by the mouse as it triggers the overlay menu. If there is a way to say....halve the recognized area, this way you wouldn't have to touch the left side to get the menu, but also would not trigger it trying to navigate.

And is it me? or does the new layout seem like a 4:3 skin now, slapped onto a 16:9 background? I know it's more complicated than that...but the newest rev, while working dandy, seems all cramped up into the middle....if this is to fix 'overscan' problems....someone has some serious freakin overscan issues! haha MP really shouldn't try to fix driver problems by adjusting skins to look this way, as it defeats having all the extra room in a widescreen configuration.

Instead may I suggest trying Powerstrip or something of the like to adjust overscan to those having this problem? It seems silly to me, with all newer TVs moving to widescreen format, and being CRT-less that the program/skins should try to fix the problems of older technology....I say this because as they get older, alot of CRTs develop more overscan problems, and you'd have to adjust the skin all the time to please everyone.

OH, before I forget, I still have a problem with the topbar not showing up after viewing a show thru MyTVSeries, and backing out to series menu, it won't show up til you right click on the screen somewhere to bring up the minimenu. In the lvg room this isnt an issue as its remote only, but in here, I use the mouse, and this has become annoying. I should have mentioned it earlier but did not think of it.

Could you attach the new Tv guide XML you made I really like it! I see you also have a problem with XML coding, the ' gets displayed as ?.
