    Another request by me: Custom Filters.

    e.g. "All action staring Bruce Willis"
    "All Animations from 2006"

    etc

    Hi fforde,

    First, thank you for the hard work your putting in this. I very much apreciate it. The plugin is getting better and better, and I like it very much! :D Thank!

    Now a question:
    - Is it possible to set a default backdrop image? I find that, whith some old movies which dont have this backdrop image yet, the screen is too clean/empty. Maybe even an option to select local backdrop images like the cover-art option.

    Yes, that's possible, but I think that requires a skin modification, that doesn't have so much to do with the plug-in. Any skinner's want to comment?

    That would be Implement Filtering Subsystem.
    You can place your additional comments to those requests there.

    Cool - I did a search but missed that somehow!

    Does the Moving pictures keep track of how many times a Film has been played? if not - thats one to add - Play Count! Last Played too :p

    I haven't yet installed the plugin, so not 100% sure whats already possible.

    Yeah thats not a prob, the default background can be set in the .xml, and you could even set it to be a multiimage, taking images from a folder of moviebackdrops. Only limitation is that this folder should prefably be located within "yourskin\media\animations\yourfolder". In aeon and titanium this folder is allready there; "aeon wide\media\animations\movies".

    Don't think I would want this as I stribe to get backdrops for all my movies, and with 80% of them having backdrops I'd hate too see some random ones in between all the correct ones. But its quite easy to do.

    I am surprised skinners don't have easy access to the thumbs folder. That would make it difficult for a skin like Aeon to use the downloaded backdrops from Moving Pictures as a part of the slow rotation on other screens. :(

    the imdb lookup lacks a blank item in the dropdown.
    what if any of the found movies in the drodown do not match at all?

    I added that to the watched flag tacking issue. These extra metrics probably wont be usable by the user (except for educational purposes :p) until filtering is enabled, but I put it down so it will get added.

    Actually it pulls from movie-xml.com, a community driven website. The best solution to this situation is to goto movie-xml.com and add the movie yourself. You would be manually entering movie details either way, so you might as well do it in a place where everyone benefits. Actually though there is currently no way to manually add unlisted movies in Moving Pictures. So for the time being, adding it to movie-xml.com is your only option.

    In the next version though there will be an IMDB scraper (plus a few others) used as a backup for when movie-xml.com does not have what you are looking for or has gone down.

    Check out this thread on the community nature of Moving Pictures though.

    nice...

    will u r at it.
    auto download subs too based on lang. defined by user.;

    OpenSubtitles?.org has a public API with which you can search based on a file MD5 checksum.

    Subtitles - download DivX subtitles from the biggest open subtitles database

    sounds cool ?

    Also I think I'm going to miss the ability to categorize large amounts of movies.
    Folders I use in myvideos.
    * movies with subs
    * kids movies
    * new stuff
    etc.

    All this will get mixed with database driven view I guess...
    forcing me to use a fair amount of time finding my files.
