auto-approve? thats gonna cause some trouble cause most of my files are tagged in german
hopefully it will then wait for my confirm

the first time i created the db it found some crazy movies bcs of the german names which i had to reassing / cancle so that they would pop up at movie importer - all matches to input a custom search string

or is there another way to edit a movie in the db with a new search using a custom search string

You can search via a custom search string on the movie importer, it's one of the buttons on the tool bar. Look at the tool tips. Also, there is a similar option on the Movie Manager tab. If most of your movies have german titles though you probably will have limited success matching movies. Currently the only data source is movie-xml.com which has limited multilingual support. See here for more details. In the next release (probably within a week) we will be adding support for IMDb and OFDb so at that point you will probably get much better results.

As far as auto matching, by default the movie title must match the search string by 1 character or be an exact match. This is configurable in the advanced settings, but the point is it should not auto-approve unless it's a correct match.

Hey fforde. Could it be that the plugin doesn't scan .iso files? All of them are missing from my DB

iso files are parsed, but they cannot be played at this moment. However, there is an issue with CAPS extensions (.ISO). These are not parsed correctly. I was searching for the issue, but can't seem to find it....
Maybe it's solved, maybe not.. will check

Marked as fixed completed, so will (probably) be available in the next release.

Otherwise (a good practice anyway) check your filename. I've had issues with _, missing spaces between movietitle and part 1, 2 etc. Just rename and try again.

Regarding the same matter;
Support for DVD folders is due in v 1.0
Support for ISO is due in v 0.57 (thats the 3rd release from now)

So if you are the impatient type, I'd start converting my dvd folders to .ISO NOW!

It's not the uppercase bug, since my iso file extensions are all lowercase.
Examples which are not found:

12 monkeys (I'll rename this to twelve monkeys and see what happens)
incredibles.iso
Star Wars Episode 1 - Phantom Menace.iso

just to name a few

Thats weird.. Tried renaming them to .avi? Just to see if they get picked up then..

Just did some testing with 12 monkeys.
First renamed it to Twelve Monkeys.iso, no joy.
Then I renamed it to Twelve Monkeys.avi and it was found...

These are just a couple of files I'm missing, there are loads more like.
Matrix.iso
Matrix Reloaded.iso
Pirates of the Caribbean - At the Worlds End.iso
Stargate The Ark of Truth.iso

And probably more I didn't spot myself... Looked through this thread and couldn't find anyone with similair issues, maybe it could be something with my machine setup for some reason?

p.s.
I just redownloaded the plugin to make sure I'm using the latest. After that it's still not finding "12 Monkeys.iso", or "Twelve Monkeys.iso". I checked the permissions for the folder and the "read only" was like partially checked (so some files read only). I set all the files to both read and write just in case.

Have you added the .iso extension as a video format in MP configuration? It is somewhere in the movies section.

well, sometimes these problems are just so simple to solve.... that did the trick thx for helping me out here...
