Re: UPDATED: Moving Pictures 1.0 RC Available

I don't know if this was already asked, but is it possible to change a filename or the path of a file without reimporting everything (summary, backdrops, cover etc) or without editing these things.

A little button or whatever in the Movie Manger/File Details/Full Path and Import Path would be nice in the next version.

I have to edit over 100 movies and this would be a great help.

You can do so via Windows Explorer or any other tool and MovingPictures will detect it is the same file based on the filehash system it uses. It will then update the database to reflect the new name, or even the new location (incase you move it or rename folder). The only requirement is that the new location is in an import path that is monitored as well as an import path, otherwise the references are removed from the database and have to be reobtained.

Re: UPDATED: Moving Pictures 1.0 RC Available

    Hi all,

I noticed some of my movies were incorrectly identified from within MovingPictures, so I reassigned them back to to the importer.

But now, none of those movies are coming up with any matches at all!

I have even manually entered the IMDB reference and it still doesn't match them

    Anyone got any ideas?

    The movie filenames are:

    Eragon.avi
    Fame.mp4
GI Joe The Rise of the Cobra.mp4
    Star Trek.mp4
    The Last Stand.avi
    The Return of the King.avi
    Transformers - 1.avi

So as you can see nothing special.

I have attached my log file.

    Many thanks, :D

    J.

I have attached my log file.

Unfortunatly your log files are useless, because you did not adjust MediaPortal to run in debug mode. So try it again please.

Apologises - I wasn't paying much attention

I have attached my two logs in debug mode.

I cleared down the logs first, and launched the plugin via the DLL (same results if launched from within MP)

    Many thanks, :D

any slight chance we will ever see a moving pictures plugin for xbmc?

i will never switch to xbmc unless someone creates a library management tool like moving pictures, nothing can beat it ..

yet if it did exist for xbmc i would switch .. take a look at latest svn build of xbmc for windows, with skin Ellipsis or Alaska or Xperience beta bravo .. my god is that tooooo beautiful

Looks like you got a big problem, I see "Error parsing DBCriteria`1.Relation Property: Value cannot be null.", which looks like you got a database corruption.

If it was me, I wouldn't even bother fixing it, but move the movingpictures.db3 file to a different location (always good to backup) and start from scratch. The time that MovingPictures needs to redownload all the info for a new database is bound to be less then the time required to solve the corruption.

Unless you have made a ton of manual corrections, but I don't know that with the info you provided so far.

You could just use them both at the same time.

    By using: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/moving-pictures-284/app-copy-artwork-details-movie-folder-71649/

You can create an easy connection between XBMC and MovingPictures. I've helped a friend do the same, because they didn't wanted to waste the money for another Windows licence in the bedroom, so the livingroom HTPC (powerful box) runs Windows with MePo/MovPic/MP-TVSeries and the bedroom has an Atom+Ion running XBMC Live from a USB Thumbdrive that uses WiFi to tap into the network storage (has no internal HDD).

If the user's local is 'en' then, because the en.xml is empty, the hardcoded English strings are used.

I've attached a en.xml (UK English) file. The only change I have made from the en-US.xml is to change all occurrences of Movie to Film.

If you move movies between import paths (with both defined). Then the location reference is updated to reflect the move (verify this via Movie Details).

Once all movies are updated to point to the correct import path (it takes some time to verify the hash if you do a mass move), you can remove the old path without any problem.

Re: UPDATED: Moving Pictures 1.0 RC Available

I am still running the previous version of media portal along with Xfactor skin and Moving Pictures 0.7.5.681. I am testing all the new versions prior to putting on my portal box so I do not disrupt the family viewing with bugs and etc. However, one difference that I have noticed has to do with the Moving Pictures 'List View'. In the older version noted above, the list view had a full lenght of movie titles on the left, movie information including description in the middle, and the poster art on the lef. The new list view has the power art on the upper half of the screen which does not leave much room for the list of movies as well as the description. I prefer the older view. First of all, who defines the list view, is it Moving Picutres, the skin, or Media Portal? Is there a way to get the older list view back?

    thanks
    Fitz

Should have proofread the previous entry better.. I meant to say movie titles on the right, description in the middle and poster art on the left. The new list of course has the poster art on the upper half of the screen...

    Sry for the bad post.

    Thanks
    Fitz
