One question... the plugin seems to be downloading much smaller JPG's for the covers, which is great. However... it is not getting rid of the original huge covers (which all seem to be JPG now and not PNG. Will it delete the old covers when it is done? I have nearly 1100 movies so it may take a while!

I decided to remove the original database and thumbnails (1.7GB in size) and then start afresh with the beta 3 version of Moving Pictures. The thumbs folder is now 111mb in size and all seems well.

The new beta renames all your old images into JPG extension, but it does not change the image format within, which might still be PNG, leading to large images (aside from the fact that a lot of time the source images on for example themoviedb are outragious).

So you can still use my thumbs reduction script, and since it is based on filesize, it will leave all the images alone that already fall within the filesizes specified (adjust according to your own preferences otherwise).

As soon as I'm done with testing this new beta3, I'll adjust that post to reflect the new purpose it might have for some people, since almost everything is now done with these new changes in MovPic.

My guess it won't get confused and it won't download it. You just won't have images and moving pictures will still try to load them in the background (which it then can't, it might fail safe with a file_exists check)
My guess is that you need to drop the DB as well

I am not sure why you were expecting subtitles downloading. This is a bug fix release for 1.0 and contains no new features. New features will show up again in 1.1, but right now we are working on getting 1.0 as stable as possible.

That being said subtitle downloading will eventually come in the form of a separate plugin that integrates with Moving Pictures so this feature may show up before 1.1 anyways. This is Seco's project though and I am just collaborating with him on it.

Absolutely. Just delete the images you don't want and Moving Pictures will download replacements in the background the next time you restart the plugin.

Sorry fford, and how about share folder view?
In this release will I be able to gather movies by "pack"? (say: Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Treck, Jurassic Park, etc)

Vampiro, you can setup a "shares view" by modifying the categories menu in the configuration. It is not a true folder view though, you would basically just be creating a few custom categories and using the file path as the criteria.

As for gathering movies of a series together, this is not really supported in the way you want I think. It is again possible to create a custom categories for each of these series, but this requires manual work and these groupings would not be listed along side your other movies. This is a feature we are trying to get into 1.1 though.
