I'm going multi seat in a few weeks and am a little confused of where timeshifting and recordings preferably are stored. I plan to put a SSD in the client but how much storage do I need on it? OS = Win7

    Hi mr viggo,

if you don't store any media files on it the only things that will be on your client are :

    1) The OS
    2) MP (I hope ;))
    3) MP Thumbnails
    4) MP Fanarts (depending on your skin)
    4) a few other tools

For example my client (running XP but it shouldn't change as much with win7) currently use 14 Gb with all XP updates, all MP and drivers packages stored in a folder, 2 MP backups, and several other unneeded things (Yes I know I should cleanup :p).

I run X-Factor and so have hundreds of fanarts, and my media db is big enough to have generated a large amount of thumbnails.

I also plan to switch to an SSD (I'm still not sure that it will improve the performances) and I'm pretty sure that 32Gb will be enough

    Thanks :)

Timeshift and recordings are stored on the dedicated tv server then?

As a guide, my livingroom client with 4GB ram (will effect the space used for pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys) and a full W7 Ultimate 32bit installation with MP, Total Media Theatre platinum and drivers uses only 15.3GB of the 64GB SSD in there. You can easily get away with a 32GB SSD and still have bags of space for a dedicated MP install.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

Hi, it looks like the Client's server connection settings got corrupted somehow and were reset, hopefully this is an easy fix. Open MP2-Client, navigate to Settings->General->Connectivity->Home server. In the menu on the left there may be an option Detach from home server, if there is click it and acknowledge the dialog that pops up...

Judging by the source code, 1.20 has DB version 61, and 1.33 has DB version 62. That is, one column has been added: symbolRateMultiplier

Ran into this problem following an otherwise sucessful upgrade from MP 1.34 x64 to MP 1.35 x64 the CEC Remote plugin which I use just to control volume and standby, will no longer put my devices (TV & AVR) to sleep when the HTPC is put in standby. Also when I wake up the HTPC MP closes or crashes (not sure which) as per the example in...
