well the intermittentness (it's a word I tells ya!) of this is a bugger... I tried to get some logs of it failing on the noStopMod48 and it worked fine  .. tried and tried (recorded TV, live TV, all kinds of channels) and all good .. hmph!

here are the logs with performance with it anyway, but I'm not sure they're useful? apologies if it's timewasting

No problem - if it breaks again and you manage to get the logs I'll take a look, otherwise just enjoy it while it's working :)

Actually - just had a proper look at your logs - interesting.....there's a large timing skew between the audio and video in the stream (~2.7 seconds - larger than I've ever seen before in anyone's logs) - your broadcaster is using 'different' encoder settings....this might explain why v42d was having problems.....

I have a similar problem switching between HD and SD. Attached is the log with this version of TsReader. It happens every time I zap from HD to this channel.

You are using an old experimental version of TsReader.ax (v42d) - try 'noStopMod50' (or later) from https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/experimental-tsreader-development.102693/#post-811296 or '0_4_17a' from https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-rtsp-infinite-loop-fixes.105545/#post-841565 or upgrade to MP 1.2.3 (which includes the 0_4_17a version of TsReader.ax)

Currently, 1.2.3 TV server through ForTheRecord 1.6.0.2, but I'm switching to full MediaPortal client 1.2.3 to troubleshoot further. Want to make sure its actually a MediaPortal issue. Secondly, it's not rtsp access, rather tsbuffer over UNC. Will open a separate thread if the issue persists. Thanks for the suggestions, but 0_14_7a didn't resolve, but more logs are generated.

Always worth mentioning this sort of thing up front. You are right that it might not be a MediaPortal problem, and it take the team much time to process these sort of support requests. This is always our own time, since we don't get paid.

Secondly, it's not rtsp access, rather tsbuffer over UNC

This method of accessing the tv server is not strictly reported.

Completely understand. What is meant by '... tv server is not strictly reported', tho? TsReader does indicate rtsp vs buffer file in logs. Were you just informing me that I neglected to state this? Is so, I didn't realize rtsp was not in use until today. My appologies.

    No worries.

I was just pointing out that the standard supported method of accessing the TV server is using rtsp. Some people wanted to use UNC paths to access for various reasons. This feature was added, but isn't really supported.

In general, when you report a bug/issue you are having, you need to give us as much information about your configuration so that we can give you the best advice. The preferred way to do this is by using the 'MediaPortal Debug-Mode' shortcut from your windows menu.
