Dear Fabrice,
In 2 pass encoding, where is the logfile put by default? Yesterday I had to stop the 2nd pass conversion and I would like to have kept the first pass log. I searched almost everywhere!

F.

Hi pierremenard,

After investigation you are RIGHT , the 2 pass encoding with FFMPEG in transcoding plugin is bugged

it is due to a stupid bug  in command line because the parameter to specify the 2 pass mode is after the output file so they are ignored

i fixed this bug in next version

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Fab

Thank you very much for this plugin (I'm using 0.8b) - everything is working as it should. I'm capturing with TV2-engine from a PVR150 card. I have chosen 1 pass XVID - and I'm happy with the result after transcoding.
But I have 2 issues:

1. The transcoded file doesn't show up in my TV-recordings from within Mediaportal. If I kill MP the file is in the correct directory d:\tvrecordings - but I can't see this file in "my recordings". I don't know if it is because that it is an *.avi file??
A solution could be to if it was possible to tell the transcoder plugin to put the transcoded file in my movie directory (as I know that this player can see the *.avi files).

2. I'm not using Powerscheduler (because I had problems after resuming from standby) I use PVR-scheduler instead - and this has solved all my resuming problems - but then I'm not sure that the transcoder plugin can wake the computer to start transcoding?

Thanks
STeen

Would love to try this out, I have 0.8b but need patch.2.2.0.rar the mediamax link won't allow it to be downloaded as it's over 10MB. Does anyone have this and could provide a download link or just email it?

Noelix, thanks, that's where I got 0.8.b from already.

I think I also need
patch.2.2.0.rar
to be able to use the plugin. FabriceD06's first post suggests his 0.2.2.0 patch is required for patched versions of core.dll, TVcapture.dll & WindowPlugins.dll and MP complains that the plugin is incompatible with 0.2.2.0.

Do you have a copy of patch.2.2.0.rar?

You don't need that. But you do need a later SVN version of MediaPortal. It doesn't work with the 0.2.2.0 stable version. Install the latest SVN and then try again. Make sure the plugin is enabled in the configuration menu.

Sorry to ask again.

But how do you mannage to see the transcoded files from within mediaportal. For me they don't show up in the "recorded TV listings".
But they are infact in the correct directory - they just isn't listed inside MP?

You have to see them in MyVideos. It's a planned feature for the transcoding plugin to update the MP database, so that it knows to point to the new transcoded video file versus the old one. Currently it does not do this.

In Windows XP there's a possibility to change the priority of a process. Wouldn't it be a good idea to set the priority of the transcoding process to something like "bellow normal"? So the transcoding wouldn't interfere with the normal work of MediaPortal.
