hi,

when scheduler works, it would be nice if you could do some after process commands (as in DrDivx) to shut down the system when no other processes (recordings, transcodings....) are running.

Hi,

i am affraid it is not clear in my mind  can you explain with more details

Regards,
Fabrice

Sure,

Transcoding takes a long time and usually will be activated to start over night.
However, it would be nice if the transcoder tells the system hey, I'm finished, I've done my job here, and if there are no other processes running (like recordings) I shut down the system, put it in standby or bring it to sleep. (A 3 choice setting) Mostly it will be safer to go to sleep as there might have been recordings scheduled for a little later. But at least it would power down everything or almost everything for some time. (Time to cool down the system)

I hope I make more sense in this.

Oh btw, great job, I like the plug-in a lot (still little corks but I'm sure you will fix that) One that pops up to mind right now is that it seems not able to save the file to a different directory or hard drive (despite settings done). I usually I try to have the source file on one hard drive and save the output file to the other. This speeds up the process a bit, and doesn't wear out the hard drives as quick from all the back and forth flipping between reading and writing.

Why don't you use powerscheduler? It already support mediatranscoder

    Hi MSMP,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Like explain by pierremenard, Mediatranscoder is compatible with powerscheduler so if you setup the shutdown of your system, the mediatranscoder check or not if a job running or scheduled, to allow or not the shutdown.

For the output path, now you specify a different location for the outpath by profile , if you don't specify the outpath , automaticcaly the transcoding file will write in the same location of source. If the outpath is present in the profile it put this location.

Thank you! I noticed a small bug in the plugin interface (it does not affect the conversion). A mpeg file of 3 gigabytes was shown as 193 Mb.

Moreover, I'd appreciate the possibility of pausing the conversion. I think there are some problems, as is mencoder to be stopped not the plugin. Anyway I suggest this.

    Thanks again

Ok i will test the file size feature to understand the problem

I think it is possible to stop the encoding correctly and after restart the encoding from the last index, i will try to develop a prototype and may be you could test it :D

    Thanks

If I add a location where to save the output file in the settings per profile.
it won't do it. The next time I go back into the same profile I did the setting for, it will list either "true" or "false" for the path. ???

    Any Idea?

    thanks.

It is a proabbly a bug, i will fix it a soon

I still have the offsync issues with ffmpeg. Now I use the tv server and I record mpeg files, so the problem is not in dvr-ms itself. Tomorrow i'll try with mencoder.

    Isn't any ffmpeg option to set a A/V synch-frame every 2 minutes?

Thank you for your efforts again!
