Good Morning

I tried with version 1.34 and even with that the TV configuration can no longer be started. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem either. Is there still any solution that allows MP to continue to operate?

@cerberus Some strange behavior... If I run SetupTV now and configure it, it still doesn't work?

Very unfortunate. It looks like the time has come to say goodbye. Too sad.

Why say goodbye right away? You have an outdated operating system, 1.34 Final, it should work completely like 1.33 and earlier, i.e. without a single change in terms of interaction between TV Server and SQL Server.
Judging by the log, this is the case, but there is also an error that only occurred when switching to MariaDB (but this transition is not possible for you on Windows 7).
Therefore, you need to find the cause and fix it.
    Is TV Server installed?
Which SQL Server do you have?
What happens when you run SetupTV?

Windows 7 is still officially supported by MP. There are no drivers for the TV cards used that work under Windows 10.

And from version 1.32 there must have been a change. In any case, TV setup no longer starts, see Windows log entry from my previous post. There are others in the German forum who have this problem.

I've already tried a few things. The MySQL 5.6 DB is fine and can also be used via shell. According to the MP Wiki, this should also be supported. I also checked my login.

    Hi,
in v1.33 there is a database upgrade by adding 'symbolRateMultiplier' column to the table name 'card' of the 'mptvdb' database.
It seems, that under certain condition the upgrade somehow doesn't alter the table. I couldn't reproduce this behaviour by myself.
Please, try to install MySQL Workbench 8.0 (mysql-workbench-community-8.0.34-winx64.msi). This is a MySQL GUI database manager. After installing:
    • stop the service 'TVservice' if running
    • connect to the local database from MySQL Workbench
    • under schemas there will be 'mptvdb'
    • check the table 'card' for columns and for presence of 'symbolRateMultiplier' (int(11))
    • if the column is missing, then check the table 'version': right click and select 'Select Rows - Limit 1000'
    • in the result window there will be one row with value 'versionNumber' set to 62
    • you have to modify the value back to 61: this will trigger the database upgrade to 62 again when you start the TVSetup
PS: if you have trouble with running the Workbench by missing 'api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll', you can use the dll from the attached file

I see, but this information does not give me an understanding of why the TV Server does not start.

    Yes, supported ...

What happens when you launch Setup TV?

    @ajs thanks for the motivation
@Pablik That was the error. After resetting the version number and starting the TV service, the TV config started again immediately. Thx alot!

It's very strange, the log says that the upgrade is not needed, but in the end it turned out that it is needed, at some point the database upgrade did not go through. But this is not in the information above (only that everything is fine).
    Code:
