For no reason MP has started crashing at random times. I'd appreciate someone peeking at my logs and offering an opinion. THANKS in advance!

First, I should have said thank you for reporting the problem and for providing log files - it's much appreciated. (y)

According to your Windows application event log, the crashing (which started on 2 Jan) appears to be caused by the InfoService plugin:

So, the solution would be to either disable the plugin or report the problem to the plugin developer(s)/maintainer(s). In this case it appears there is also a recent update available. I'm not sure if the update is intended to solve this problem, but it could well be worth trying before doing anything else.

    Hope that helps. :)

    Appreciate the quick response!

Please remind me, IIRC the infoservice plugin is mainly for rss and Twitter feeds? I do have an RSS feed, but would disabling the plugin affect anything else?

    Thanks again!

Yes I think so, but to be honest I've never used the plugin myself so I don't know for sure.

If you're right about the function/purpose of the plugin then I would answer: no, nothing else should be affected by disabling it.

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help! EDIT: I now downgraded the server (as I did with the client above)...

So, you're power cycling the TV, but not putting the PC to sleep ? In General => Startup/Resume settings, try checking "Ignore Windows resolution/size changes" In Codecs and Render, try selecting the specific audio device rather than "Default DirectSound device" Just ideas, no guarantee this will do anything. If this doesn't work, I...

I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.
