See ideally I just want MP tv series installed on my server and the client to just run a 'client version' of MP tv series so when I watch something, all my other clients mark it as watched. Currently I have 2 installs of MP tv series which have 2 databases and do 2 lots of fanart and data scraping. They are essentially independent, but somehow want then to work together.
Yes, I have the same, but on three separate machines. Trakt does an excellent job of keeping them all synced.
I understand your point about the waste of space in having databases and artwork duplicated, but on the plus side, at least you have a back up if one gets corrupted or lost.
I don't think there is a way of doing what you want within MP1, but I think that you can with MP2.
Oh, there is also a plug in called MPSync that you could try?
Concurrent access to the same database is asking for trouble, because SQLite is extremly sensitive and can mess up quickly.
You can however share the same thumbs/artwork folders between multiple clients, but unless you have a high efficient wired network structure, it will add delays at a small saving of storing duplicates on each 'client'.
If you use a server setup with clients 'cloning' all the data, you have the added benefit that you can use MPExtended on the server to really expand things and allow remote access to your collection on other desktops or smartphones/tablets.
Be sure to make backups often, possibly automatic such as via the batch script method I use myself that I shared on the forum, because recreating a good setup once things go wrong can be time intensive.
Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal.
Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

Not going to make this long winded or anything, but just to point out over the @15 years I've overall donated several hundred quid. And I begrduge NONE of it, not a penny - I do wish MP well - 100%. It is an awesome...

So not 100% sure if this is a MyTVSeries or FanArt issue, but the episode thumbnails always revert to the series default after restart.
If you go to an episode and open the options and pick choose artwork then choose episode thumbnail it shows the correct thumbnail and says it is remote. Click on it and it goes local instantly and...
