I have published an official release, so you can try that instead. Just keep in mind it is more of a testing release to see how the TVDb v4 API handles search (an alternative to .tvdb file matching)

For people not using the .tvdb file for online series matching, and for those who put their series in unique directories, this option is useful (see attached image).
The reason to use this option would be if your series directory has different filenames for each episode e.g. Law & Order vs Law and Order, in this case, it does two searches vs one if the folder name was used. Anyway, just something I wanted to mention as I noticed a few people not using it and it really can help improve search accuracy.

I've been happily using "Rename My TV Series" (https://www.tweaking4all.com/home-theatre/rename-my-tv-series-v2/) to set a standard format for all my episode names. Just drag the file names into the editor, and it searches the proper name for it. Depending on the naming format for your recorded TV files (TS), you may have to manually rename the files. You can also grab the TVDB number using it. Caution: it doesn't always get the year of the series right (thus mis-naming the episode) if there are same series-names produced in different years.

For some reason it thinks your series name (or directory depending on if you import in config or mediaportal):

Yes, full debug logs would be helpful. Before doing that, ensure you have the latest version installed from the MPEI installer. If possible add a new episode so can see something fresh import.
Solved my import issues by moving the files to "root", instead of within a sub folder.

I've put together a community version that talks to TheTVDB's current (v4) service directly, and I've been running it on my PC and HTPC with a big library for over a week now.
What it does:

- Your own TheTVDB subscription PIN (TheTVDB requires one for every user, about US$12 a year). No API key needed, one is built in.
Already have a TheTVDB PIN? Then this version is well worth a try. One TheTVDB subscription covers every app that uses TheTVDB this way (Kodi, Plex, Emby and others), so if you already pay for one, your PIN works here too at no extra cost. Try it, and if it doesn’t suit you, uninstall it and go back to the original.

Please back up your database before installing. This is not the official release, and installing it is entirely your choice. If you don't like it, simply uninstall it and go back to the original MP-TVSeries you had before.

- Reads show IDs from .tvdb, tvshow.nfo and series.xml files, and keeps same-named shows apart (e.g. Prime Suspect 1973 and 1991)
- Trakt community ratings for series, seasons and episodes, without the Trakt plugin
- Artwork fixes, recovery of episodes left behind by failed imports, and no crash on very long file paths
- Includes the official team's 4.5.1.756 fixes
