I have had a look at your database and it had no epg I mailed you back about this.

Regarding the script locations, this is my first attemt at anything in python and C# and there my main goal has been to get things working without to much finess. I do plan to make things a lot cleaner but would like to get the basics up and running first. I hope to implement bitplanes skin module so that we can have different skins and get that all out of the python files into XML files.

Anyway enough rambling on my behalf. Let me know how it goes.

Ok i have found some issues that are going to take a little ironing out as I am a bit lost. The problems you guys seem to be having is related to special non-english characters in the XML files that are sent between the Xbox and Mediaportal. Thanks to mvoosten for his database as I can use this for testing.

I have also corrected the issue for users that have no channel groups so that an All Channels group is included like in MP.

Hopefully I can iron out the language issues this weekend and get an update out some time next week.

Yes Got it working

After reading this thread
and changing the ip address in the mp plugin side from
127.0.0.1 to the listening port.

sheduled recording fine and can play converted recordings

how do i set up auto convert ?

what is the 5 hour setting ? what does it mean it will convert in 5 hours
it will convert 30min recording to 5 hours what ??

please help

EDIT : oH YES chad thanks for this plugin it is a great leap forward to what we with media pc and xbmc are requiring.
its great to be able to schedule recordings and watch recorded tv.

we just need live tv with ineter mux channel switching.

TSREADER will send a full mux to xbmc and you can switch between channels within the mux, but not to channels in other mux's

The auto-convert setting in MP can be accessed via MP --> my TV --> Recorded TV --> Compression.

The auto-convert feature has a time setting which will only convert programs that exceed that time value, hence setting it to 15 minutes should just about catch all recordings.

In the futrue I would like to be able to manage the compression from the Xbox as well.

I hope to have skinning as an option in two releases from now. I hope to release an update this week to handle foreign characters without crashing and some other small touchups.

compress time setting ?

the time setting in my mp has a minimum setting of 1 hour how do i se this to 15min ?

i am using version 1.03 and not the lates cvs as they are recoding the Transportstream code.

with latest cvs my dvbt cards dont work.

I was making an assumption on the compression time setting based on what I had read in another thread, I do mine manually at the moment. After having a quick look through that thread it does appear that 1 hour is the mimimum setting.

Thanks for the info. on compresion time settings
it seems the time setting is a little confusing for other people
aswell after reading the thread.

yes request may be in order

my commpresion is not working at all at the moment
i just get error and it locks up.
but hey thats another topic.

xbmc server is still working great.
i convert to mpeg another way

Updated 23-8-05 version 0.3

I have uploaded another update to http://home.iprimus.com.au/miarose/mp_xbmc.zip

The update should resolves lockups related to non-ascii characters that XBMC can not handle. All unknown characters will be replaced by a '?', this should not effect any functionality as all special characters are still part of communication with MediaPortal.

Also you do not require any channel groups as a default group for 'All Channels' is now provided.

Last but not least the install documentation is updated and online at http://home.iprimus.com.au/miarose/
This should make it a bit easier to setup due to some gaps in the previous readme :?
