Don't know. I've been running with mp 1.9 final without any patch for over 2 weeks without any problem, this was the first crash.

I've installed V6 patch anyway and will test this for a while.

My impression is that the Intel systems resume in a different screen resolution than they were standby'ed from. The resolution is corrected very quickly on its own, but if a full-screen application that is supposed to be running in 1920x1080 is exposed to something else, the driver crashes.

EDIT: More than just an Impression. Sometimes you see a ballon message on the desktop after resume that the system is not runnning at optimal Resolution. Indeed if this happens the message says that it's not in 1920x1080, although it was when it had been suspended.

In V6 i use the same code as MPTRAY to get the focus, so i think maybe focus (try to focus) when MP is not ready/display or something lead to the D3D error
V5 is behaving OK. What did you do there to get the focus?

I am on v6 and all is peachy. Since the test builds no crashes anymore, my issues seem to be solved.

However I have an amd card, not Intel AND probably more important, regarding the reported d3d errors related to resolution change, is that my resolution does not change on stb resume or AVR turned off.

I fixed that by setting my desktop to 30hz at 1080p when no HDMI connected. It now just changes back to 60hz in connected HDMI and that's it - no crash (have that for 6 months now)

You should try this. Disconnect HDMI and use tight vnc etc.. And check your graphic settings.

Prompted by @blub I tried to connect via RDP. With HTPC in standby I completely switched off the attached TV, woke up the HTPC and connected via Remote Desktop: What I saw was a MePo exception Screen with the usual D3DERR logged. @Sebastiii , this is with V5.

The really interesting thing though was that I could see a balloon message, saying that the system is "not running in optimal Resolution. The optimal Resolution is 2048x1152". I have neither a clue where the driver is getting this nonsense from (Windows Resolution is set to 1920x1080), nor how I can adjust this.

I trust that this wrong resolution is the source of all issues. Any ideas?

    Hi,

After installing Fix v6 yesterday everything seems to work great. I didn't had any crash since I installed the fix. This morning mediaportal resumed just fine. It also seems the "desktop showing up before mediaportal is focussed" is gone with v6 fix. Great work:) Anyway I will keep you updated incase any problems occur.

One thing I found in my log was this, haven't seen a problem but i'm wondering what it is:

    Code:
[2014-10-25 01:02:47,040] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - MiniDisplay:Error while loading driver C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\process\LCDDrivers\LCD2USB.dll: Kan DLL C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\process\LCDDrivers\LCD2USB.dll niet laden: Kan opgegeven module niet vinden. (Uitzondering van HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
    [2014-10-25 10:39:06,539] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found
    [2014-10-25 10:39:06,542] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found
    [2014-10-25 11:05:42,084] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found
    [2014-10-25 11:05:42,086] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found
    [2014-10-25 11:05:52,404] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found
    [2014-10-25 11:05:52,405] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found
    [2014-10-25 11:31:32,495] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - SelectDVDHandler: ShowSelectDriveDialog - Plz Insert Disk
    [2014-10-25 11:32:55,970] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found
    [2014-10-25 11:32:55,971] [Error ] [MPMain ] [ERROR] - Failed filter: not found

Where the first error should be fixed in MP1-4477 as far as I can see. For the other errors I don't get what it means and haven't seen a problem as far as I can remember.

@killer8 , please do not mix other issues with the standby discussions or things will start getting confusing. Just open a new thread if you would like to follow up on These Messages.

I had a crash with v6 fix applied after standby. Mediaportal was minimized, desktop was shown and mediaportal was frozen/crashed in the background. I had to kill through the task manager. I will keep testing but incase this happens more often I will revert back to the default mp 1.9 final Mediaportal.exe.

I've attached the error logs but it doesn't show an error/stacktrace. Same for windows error logs it doesn't show any error at all.
