+1 on win7

P.S.
If you are a stundent: A lot of universities and schools offer an MSDNAA account. I just got 2 Win7 Pro Licenses (1x32 and 1x64 bit [I thought there would be only 1 license valid for both so I will try installing two 64bit Versions] over my MSDNAA acoount.

I could use the win 7 1x32 MSDNAA license for the 1x64 version. It seems like the license only is valid for one computer.

I'm all for pure Windows 7 aswell, even though I do understand that some people don't want to upgrade all their HTPCs to Win7 due to costs. But my guess is that going for 7 only will be the most futureproof solution aswell.

I might be thinkign too far ahead now, but let's say that we'll see MP 2 "final" in what? 2nd half of 2011? At that point it'll probably only be 1 more year untill we get "Windows 8", and then you'll have to work with support for Vista, 7 and 8.

Hi All, if XP can not be supported without compromises, then Win 7 only would make sense. As Vista just has so many bugs. I thought that MP II came out (developed) way before Win 7 was available, it must have been developed on XP. So it would not be too much to keep the XP compatibility. Also, I have not leant much about the advantage of Win 7 over XP. With MP I, I really hope it can boot a bit faster and totally crash proof (which at the moment I can not say it is yet). I thought that is the main reason to start MP II from scratch, I remember seeing someone said it will be 'rock solid and blazing fast'.

To be honest. I am positively surprised about the positive "W7 only" feedback we recive here.
I was expecting a lot of bashing and moaning.

Sometimes it is nice to be wrong. :)

I agree, I thought the community would not be so happy about it.

Good to be wrong and see that people understand the benefits.
