Does it take any longer for MediaPortal to read mp3 ID3v2 tag information than it does reading ID3v1?

It should not make a big difference. If you are interested you can download a stand-alone version of the future tag reader (search for tag reader in the forums). This will give you some timing infos (but only for the new version).

Just to be sure: You are aware that mediaportal is able to read all your tags at once and store them in a database, so this is a one time item for your collection? It took me less time than needed to make a coffee on my first scan (app. 80 GB music) and never did it again (scanning that is, coffee still is a daily based addiction)

MP always reads v2 tags first. Only when not present it falls back and uses v1 tags.
Shouldn't be a difference in speed.

OK, I found a way to make it work. So to fix it on the Win 11 HTPC: Created a shortcut to...
