If you need another beta-tester... here I am
MP 0.2RC2 + CVS (server) and PDA WM5 (client).
I tried the old one and I got the same problems the others did. I am really interested in this plugin!

It should be working on 2003 and WM5.0..
as long as compact framework 1.0 is installed..

Egon, did you have any luck finding some supporting code?
I'm currently working to get the skin fail safe..
the application is full screen now, and is the skin does not include a back or exit button, You can get stuck, requiring a hard reboot of the PPC..

a small update:
media browser is working for Artist - Album
still to do: browse by Album, Genre Year etc..

a drop down menu for selecting another window..
now playing: all but the coverart
navigation controls: just a matter of defining elements and actions to MP.

so that's it..
I compiled a version agianst the latest CVS, but the skin has too many dead ends now, I don't want to screw up your PPC..

Couple questions, the now playing doesn't show coverart? What would be cool is if you could read all the id3 info on the pda, I've loaded mine with coverart and lyrics (great program Zortam, only free for 3 days for lyrics download but that was enough to update my collection) It would also be great to browse by years, fav, etc. (Ok, looking ahead already) But am looking forward to see what you've got so far.

I use vbar on my pda, this lets me switch between active programs and selectively close them (Assuming the screen lets me see the arrow in my upper right.) Hopefully this can help avoid crashes. For fullscreen games one of the buttons is programmed like an escape typically.

coverart does not yet work.

I'm going to rewrite the whole now playing aprt..

currently I poll a webservice and this is not really a very elegant solution.

I compiled the server against CVS release mediaportal-cvs-03-12-2006--20-22.rar no other versions tested..

Browse by album and artist works, still have to write code for Genre, top 100, rating etc..

the screen layouts and logic might not be the best you have ever seen, but it does the job for now. I you want to write your own skin, take a look at the default.xml file, it's fairly straightforward.

Wake On Lan is still working, but no button is made in the current skin.
