ok, it does not look, like this was the bug.
i added the right reference and compiled it in vs 2005, but i still get the same error.

sorry for not getting back to this earlier..

version 0.0.3 should be working allright without the need for recompiling...
the client schould be compiled witn VS2003, the backgroundworker Dll is a workaround for a missing feature in CF1.0..

I do plan to migrate to PPC2003 in the future.

Just checking in, for some reason I stopped getting update emails. How are things going with the changes to database etc?

No rush, it's working fine for now. I've been using an old version of MP to update my database. I was going to make some other changes to the pages, but I'll wait to see what you've come up with first.

    just a silly question:
I have a O2 XDA mini (like t-mobile mda compact)...
is this only a wlan programm or could the connection be established with bluetooth too? or is there the bandwith to thin ?

so wich connection do you need for communicating with mediaportal?

    another question:
could this programm also beeing used for doing remote control over the established connection?
or didn't i get the use of the programm?
is it for streaming audio/movies on the pocketpc or is it a remote control deluxe, but the output happens on the monitor of the normal PC ?

    thanks,
    BigCheese
p.s. sounds really nice this programm :)

You can use wlan over bluetooth, I don't have any details on this, but Scrappy used to do it this way.
I kinda lost contact with him so no help there i'm afraid.
    but is is possible.

the term remote control deluxe is probably right..
you can control MP with it like any other remote.
you can also browse the music library on it and create playlists (almost, stil developing this) (no other remote can do that :) )
hopefully myjag will start work on the TV section, so you can switch channels, view recorded shows etc.

It is NOT a client that can pick up network streams..

if you dont want to mess around with your bt-stack, the easiest way is to establish an activesync connection over bluetotth. if you have that connection, your ppc is integrated into your local network and you jsut have to enter the ip of your htpc.

if you dont mind playing around with your bt-stack, you can install the broadcom stack that has the ability to create a pan connection to a computer.

hmm, that would be a problem, a part of the communication is done over UDP, when a activesync connection is made, UDP is blocked.

I don't know why this is, but I can't debug this part of my code becaus of this..
