Re: MPDisplay2 - MP Secondary Display

I've reinstalled MP due to files being corrupt after a BSOD so I can tell you exactly whats installed. Hope this helps!

    - MP 1.2.1
    - Streamedmp 1.7.2.2976
    - MPDisplay2 0.6.0.6
    - MPDisplay2 NoTouch 0.6.0.7
    - MPDisplay2 PureHD 0.6.0.7
    - Dutch TV Logo's
    - OnlineVideos

    This is on
    - W7 x86 Enterprise
    - AMD X4800+
    - ATI Sapphire HD6570 with latest Catalyst

MP idle load is at 10-15%

EDIT: When I disable all scrolling lines in the NoTouch skin xml's, cpu load is back around 22% when playing TV!

ok. Have you tried with another MP Skin? Try the default for once.
As I know, StreamedMP needs a bit more resources as other Skins. If there is stilll such a high CPU Load than it's something else.

Has someone use 2 monitors (one of them FUll HD) and 2. Display with 800 * 600 * 600 or 1024 * 768 Resolution and have VA deinterlacing with ATI HD6450 or antoher.
The Problem ist , If the Second Monitor "ON" its onliy "BOB" possible.

The Secend Problem ist Meidaportal the Option "Alway ON TOP " enabled , theL ive TV has only 40Frames / Sec. and many dropt Frames. Disable "Alway" on Top the Fram Rate ist ok (49,99) and no dropt Frames.

Have everyone a solution for this Problem.

Grafik: HD6450 , CPU AMD 245E oder AMD A75 CHipsatz with Quad Core CPU and HD6450. Catlayst 11.7 or 11.9.

    ----------------------------

    yes, I.:)

you have to turn off Aero.
aero on if I'm disturbing the 60hz the 2.monitor, that goes only to 60hz.
without aero I can at least set va, if it is then taken is another question.

    Hi there!

Need to say "Thank You" - it's working (mostly) perfect on my system (with an imon display). Only the readability is a litte problem as the display is only 7" - so when you are not directly in front of the HTPC - well ...

So - I wonder if a skinapproach like this >>Link Metro Skin<< would be possible and - a good idea? I like the big buttons which would make it easier to use and better readable design. Looking forward Version 0.7 :)

    Best Regards

    Markus

I'm not actually using MPDisplay2, but I do run two displays so I might be able to contribute some useful information.

My TV runs at 1280x720@60hz and my monitor (Primary) runs at 1280x1024@85hz.

I use dshowhelper_v0084_part_DWM and leave Aero on (I've been advised that Aero is necessary for this to work properly).

VA is set in CCC and stays on that setting (although I probably couldn't tell whether it's actually using VA or not).

Generally it works OK, although MP's GUI is very slow/unresponsive if something on my (Primary) monitor has focus. Clicking my mouse on MP is necessary to fix that. TV is generally OK, at 59-60fps, with a render time/offset (can't recall the exact term) of around 6-7ms, although that can go to 15-20ms if something on my monitor has focus. I tend to get the odd audio dropout or a few seconds of video repeating when watching TV as well, so I think I'm going to have to aim to move to a single display only, and RDP in from another box to do other stuff. It might not be so bad if MP took focus when it received input from my remote, but it doesn't and I have to get up and click on MP with my mouse, which gets annoying.

Sounds to me that you don't have checked "Keep MP Allways on Top" in the MP Config (General - StartUp/Resume Settings)

    Hi Markus,

Sorry, but I'm a big opposer of this Metro Design. I do not only dislike this style, I really hate it.
I'll not make any Skins in this Direction.

But if you wish to do such a Skin I will answer any question you will have. Just take a look into our FAQ. There you will find some usefull informations about skinning. All other question will be answered in our Skin- Forum. :D

    Cheers,

I think when I tried that option, I was unable to use other programs on my monitor properly, I guess because MP was forcing focus even when I was trying to use something else (scrolling didn't work, couldn't close windows, etc). I'll give it another go though.

The MP config settings for my Hauppauge remote do have a tick box for each button, labelled "Gain Focus", which is in addition to whichever function I assign to that key, so I could just tick this for the most common buttons (HOME, EPG, VIDEO, RADIO, PICTURES, and the directional and OK keys) and that would probably do, but it would be better IMHO if there was just a simple "Gain focus when any remote input received" option.

EDIT: I did just try it again, and "Always on Top" does make MP always keep focus, making it impossible to properly use programs on the other screen. The main problems are closing windows/tabs and scrolling with the mouse wheel (I can drag the scrollbar in my browser and use that). Maybe these functions aren't relevant to using MPDisplay2 however and I'm not trying to hijack this thread :)

Just rename the ending from zip to mpe1. It is an MP Installer File.
The Internet Explorer renames the file ending...
