    Hey adam.

First thanks for you and your team for the new release!!!

I have tried the new version, it looks very professional ;-)

    And now the issues *gg*

MPD++ does not start with MP. i must start it manually. is there an option for automatic starting (with MP).

Also with the old MPD2 i had the problem that if my secondary screen (where MPD is on) is switched on later then the HTPC, MPD++ will be shown on the main screen behind MP. Have tried also Custom position, which doesnt work for me. MPD++ isnt shown is this case.

In the past i have written a little autoit script which checks or set the position if MPD++.

    Could you confirm this behaviour?

    Thx pOpY

    Hi popy,

MPDisplay GUI should be starting automaticly, try checking the path is correct in the MPDisplay++ config under "Local MPDisplay Path".

If you are using Vista/Win7 you may need to run MP as administrator, This is due to needing "ServiceController" support.

If you could post your logs I can have a look(X:\ProgramData\MPDisplay++\Logs)

    Sa

    hey.

have looked into it and here are the logs.

I have enabled the option to bring MP to front. After disabling this option illsaw that there is an exception on starting MP. So it seems MPD++ gets loaded on MP start and then crashs. If ill start MPD++ before MP all is working fine.

I couldnt see any exceptions in the logs of MPD++ or Mediaportal. Also there is no error.log file of MP.
In the attachment there is also a txt file of eventvwr which shows some errors of mysql ... how to fix those?
Maybe it has something todo with the crash?

    I am running MP 1.2.2 on Win7 x64 SP1.

    thx

    Hi Popy,

Try setting the MPDisplay++.exe and MediaPortal.exe to run as administrator. Win7 is pretty picky on what programs other programs can start.

Date Format stays UK even when using "German" - what does the Language setting effect - only the Language xml?

TV Guide View - Title is not scrolling (but set in the config) - can the description be displayed there - currently onle the Title is on the Top and everything below shows the MP Logo (Using the NoTouch skin)

    AW: MPDisplay++ - Extended Display/Touchscreen Plugin

    Hi there,

first a big :D to the developers of the new version.

Sadly I have to report two errors on my setup.
I'm running MP on WinXP-SP3 (or rather MCE2005) and have 2 graphic adapters.

First of all the default path "Local MPDisplay executable path" is wrong after the installation.
    It reads as "C:\\Programme (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MPDisplay++\MPDisplayGUI\MPDisplay++.exe"
This looks like the standard path for a 32-bit program in a Win7-system.
So perhaps the plugin doesn't recognize that in a Win-XP environment the installation path is a little different.
I had to manually correct this to:
"C:\\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MPDisplay++\MPDisplayGUI\MPDisplay++.exe" as in the attached picture "Config 1"
(In an English Windows environment it probably reads as "programs" instead of "Programme" as in my German version)

Now for the local MPDiplay settings:

First of all you can see my monitor configuration on the attached picture "GFX Configuration".

The upper monitor #1 is the primary Windows desktop with an attached TFT-monitor on an ATI Radeon HD 5400.
The middle monitor #4 is the touchscreen whrere MPDisplay++ is going to run.
This monitor is on the same graphics adapter as the primary Windows desktop (screen #1)

MP runs on monitor #2 on the second graphics adapter (ATI Radeon HD 4200).
Now as you see in the attached "Config2" picture the plugin detects the correct position (X=648, Y=1080) and resolution (800x600) when I select monitor #4 for MPDisplay++.

But when I start MP I always get a blank/blacked-out 800x600 area on the upper left corner of my primary Windows desktop (monitor #1) and instantly an error message from the .NET Framework.

The text of the error message is also attached.

Perhaps this already helpd in isolationg the error.
If you need further MP-logs please tell me.

    Kind regards

    Roger

    Hi Roger,

We do not offically support XP in code as it is over 10 years old now, But we will try to help resolve your issue here.

There is a bug in win XP that causes display device names to me appended with random chars eg "\\.\DISPLAY4??????￿???".

Please check the MPDisplay++.xml file (X:\ProgramData\MPDisplay++\MPDisplay++.xml or whereever XP hides this stuff)
If the entry is anymore than \\.\DISPLAY4 remove the rest. (see last page for comment by Neelex)

    Hi Sa,

:D for the quick reply which solved the problem.

It was in the GUISettings.xml rather than in the MPDisply++.xml.
Additional to the random characters behind "\\.\DISPLAY4" the X and Y offset was still 0 instead of the right values.
Manually changed that and it worked instantly.

Sad to hear because here in old Germany ca. 50% of the Windows users are still using XP.
But as long as the plugins works also in XP... :)

    Keep on your fantastic work

    Cheers

    Hi Roger,

Would you be able to test a patch for XP, None of our Dev team has an XP install.

Just replace the file in the .rar below (backup old ones first)

    MPDPlugin.dll > X:\Programe files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\plugins\process\
    MPDisplayConfig.exe > X:\Programe files\Team Mediaportal\MPDisplay++\MPDisplayGUI\

    Thanks Sa

    Hi Markus,

please be shure to set the correct time format within the MP Config under Plugins - Window Plugins - Home.

The EPG is not supported yet.

My Hero ;) - using MP for years now and never ever had a look in the Home Plugin ... Wahnsinn ...

Working great so far - a basic question: I sit possible to have a "generic" view when you enter a plugin not included in your Skin (in my case MyAnime for example). So you always get a List view of teh items - or coverflow or whatever? Probably so you can select over the setup (like in the skinsetup) where you get a list of plugins availible and what to show there (ok - might be nonsense at all)
