    Thanks for 2.0.0.3
Now we have a nice problem-solver.

Could you also add two more tabs - "on start-up" and "on shutting-down"?

It would also be great if there are two more items in the menu:
    - "add a command-line" to add command-line(s) for batch-files,
    - "kill the process" to list process(es) to be killed

You can use the "External Command" job for this.

Tried StartUp and ShutDown features but no luck.

    My config:
    TVService in "Services" - "manually",
"Start MP with Windows" in MP console - unchecked.

    Suspend:
    stop MP,
    stop TVService

    Resume:
    restart DVB-driver,
    start TVService,
    start MP

    That's working.

    Shut down:
    stop MP,
    stop TVService

    Start up:
    restart DVB-driver,
    start TVService,
    start MP

TVService and MP are not starting

Unfortunately, there're no "test ShutDown" and "test StartUp" buttons.

    PS
I didn't quite get where to put the path to my batch-file if I add "ExternalCommand"

    Hi,

I have also had the "MP shutting unexpectedly" error. By de-activating the Watchdog, I take that you loose the ability to log what is happening - correct? Is that all that Watchdog does?

I also have the issue since installing HPStandbyHandler where MP wakes up fine to record from sleep, finishes recording, returns to sleep, however it does not wake for subsequent recordings i.e. it remains asleep. If I start the machine manually (pushing the power button) when it was supposed to record, it records straight away.

I'm guessing there must be a setting for when the machine goes back to sleep? Or could it be a setting within Powerscheduler?

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Graham

No logging is still done, just in event of a error watchdog does not launch automatically, you have to do it from the start menu.

Powerscheduler plugin, make sure reinit tuner is not selected as it is not necessary.

TVServer\general\delay find tv cards try adjust this to see if it may help (min 15 secs. max 60 secs).

    Hi Paranoid Delusion,

I have this set currently at 20 seconds.

I also have MPStandbyHandler installed and noticed that MP is not at the main screen where I left it before the machine went to sleep - is that what I would expect running MPStandbyHandler? Is there a setting in there when the machine goes to sleep I need to adjust? Funny how it records the first time but not any subsequent times? Perhaps I should drop a log?

    Cheers

    Graham

Ok, i am sure that the shutdown jobs worked. I forgot to tell that i integrated a rotating log file system.
The last log file gets the extension .log.1, the log file two system starts ago gets the .log.2 and so on until .log.5
I you want to review what happend during last shutdown you have to look into .log.1

The system start is another thing. It seems that the c# windows services get no "sessionchange : logon" event.
So the only chance to be informed if windows is starting up is to catch the "system startup" event. This might sound quiet obvious, BUT the time when this event arises is BEFORE a user is logged in (even if you have autologon). This means that all user related jobs can't be run at that time, for example the start/top of MP.
I will check if i can add something like a delay to wait for this jobs to start later. But that's not a smart solution.

So plz, check the system shutdown in .log.1 and post it here.

    I tried twice.

First shutting down failed with no log.
I pressed "test standby" killing TVServer and MP and only after that I could restart my PC through start-menu.

    Hi,

Tonight I had no sound after the first recording - not sure if there was no sound before the recording or after. After rebooting, it seemed to be fine.

I think I will log separate forums for both of these issues.

As mentioned, it might be worth turning on Watchdog and dropping some log files.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Cheers

I can see no problem in your log. TVS is killed. MP can only be stopped if the tray app is running.
    Where is the problem?

Of course, this is a log from the second try when everything went OK.
During the first try when I couldn't shut down my PC I saw no log at all.

I'll try it again today when my family stops watching TV.

Still waiting for the start-up operation.

    Thanks a lot!
