Hey Guys,

I have been spending countless hours building the new version of MPTouch, This new version is a completely different approach than before.So MPTouch is now dead and it will now be called "MP Display2". The main reason for the name change is due to the extenability of this new plugin.It has its own skin engine like MP (xml code is a wee bit different) It has a range of controls available:

FadeLabel (will accept MP property tags e.g #Play.Current.Title and plain text)
Label (Plain label)
Image (will accept MP property tags e.g #Play.Current.Thumb and plain image files)
ProgressBar (will accept MP property tags e.g #Percentage)
TrackBar (will accept MP property tags e.g #Percentage with Touch/Mouse seeking)
VolumeBar (with Touch/Mouse seeking)
Button (Send MPactions,Open MP windows,Open Display2 windows/dialogs and run program)
Equalizer (Still bass player only, But multi support will eventually be implemented)
ListControl (This will automaticly find the list that is visible on the mainscreen and display it)
Windows (Make your own windows add as many as you want)
Dialogs (Make your own Dialogs add as many as you want)

You can customize pretty much all of it!
You can set MP Display2 windows/Dialogs to appear when a certain MP window opens.
You can set MP Display2 windows to appear when player IsVideo, IsRadio etc.
You can globally set fonts,colors,images or individuality set for each control.
So even if you don't have a Touchscreen you can set windows to switch when you want (hence the name change)
All the systeminfo is set to MP propertys so you can display for example HDD and CPU info in your main MP skin
The graphics quality can be set if you have low end graphics gear.

Basicly it's a whole separate GUI for Mediaportal, This is why it has taken so long (Two weeks of programming time is a lot different to two weeks of real time )

ToDo:
1. Finish ListControl (This is the most complex part of MPTouch and MP Display2)
2. Make a config page (simple)
3. Finish system info tags

Wondermusic has taken over skin development and has done an amazing job (I think he is going to have 4 skins ready for release) this has given me a lot more time developing than photoshopping.

Please be patient as it is very close to Alpha release me and Wondermusic are ironing out a few unforeseen bugs, But as you know with the 1000's of different mediacenters out there there will still be bugs in the Alpha release, But with the new code design each control is built separate from the GUI so each one can be substantially modified without affecting the GUI as a whole (unlike MPTouch where a small bug almost cause a rewrite each time), So fixes/bugtracking will be much faster.

There will be a minimum of 3 Skins available in the Alpha release. Blue3, Blue3Dark and X-Factor.
May be I get the PureVisionHD to work until release. It's Christmas time and there is still much to do at home and my wife would kill me if i'm spending the whole time in front of the computer after work.

StreamedMP comes eventually with the next release. Here i planned the integration of fanarts as part of the backround. Let's see if it's possible with MP Display 2... First tests are looking great, but there is still a major issue with changing the backround sometimes.

Hoping too, to make you all a nice Christmas present.

Hi together.

Don't know if there will be a first release before Christmas. But much as I can say, there will be four Skins available at launch. Blue3, Blue3Dark, X-Factor and PureVisionHD. Later I will attach some screenshots for the first impression.
Some gimmicks won't be fully available:

- Not all Dialog Windows ready
- Dialogs are not labeled, only Buttons are working
- in first release without different languages available, only English (comes later, eventually in Beta)
- Go one screen back over several Screens will not be possible in first release (comes later, in next release)

Accept for the listcontrol function (don't know how far the progress is. I think sa_ddam is really busy at the time) everything will be shown on the screen (Now Playing Screens for Music overall and Video overall, Homescreen, SysInfo, TouchRemote, Exitscreen).

Later on there will be more skins available. Planned are aMPed, StreamedMP, MayaSkin and BlackGlas. Maybe with Fanart functionality, but that will be something for the Final Version.

If the above written comes true, i wish all waiting testers and users a Merry Christmas.
