MPTouch - Mediaportal TouchScreen Plugin (2 Viewers)

Hi all,

Next release has been delayed due to the current bugs still not ironed out but so far so good.
And has been some BIG code changes.

This plugin is a challenge just on the fact that it needs to get current infomation that other plugins and windows are getting at the same time, That can cause lag in MP which we dont want .Also I set myself a CPU max limit of 15% on top of Mediaportal
So this also make things take a bit longer.

Change: The way the different windows appear has been changed, Some users not having correct window showing.
Change: The TouchScreen Listview has been completely re-written (more stable)
Added: Listveiw for moving pictures
Added: Home screen , Shows selected Item info, (Hovers, covers etc.)
Bugfix: Moving Pictures lagging with plugin (Fixed)
Bugfix: Shuddering TV sometimes (Fixed)

only have one small bug before release

Note: Record Button is not mapped to anything yet
Note: I havent done any Internet stuff yet ,So Weather and news at the moment are just dummy text for layout reason only(unless you live in NZ and the weather happens to be exactly what is on the touchscreen)

Is anyone having other plugin errors due to this plugin?
I think one user has but i cant see why and I cant replicate (I have installed just about every plugin I could find to test but no plugin crashes)

When running on Windows 7, and when "large fonts" (150%) is selected, the MPtouch window is oversized, see this post for example.

However, the biggest problem for me is major dropping of frames when displaying info screen on live-tv mode, but according to your last post this problem is already adressed.

I can't play DVD without a MP crash message when MP Touch enabled. Anyone else seen that problem?

Hi All,

Been a while but here it is.

Has been some major changes in the Plugin code so took a long time but seems to be most stable yet
After the plugin changing direction so many times during development there was heaps of lazy code left everywhere and with the recent changes in RC1 and RC2 that left a lot of Quick workarounds that where causing a lot of the bugs that you all found.

But this big clean up could not be avoided and puts us back a step or two due to new bugs that may appear

So the TouchScreen GUI has not that many changes but the plugin base has been overhauled

PS: "TouchScreenSkin" folder goes in to your skin "Media" folder

Still problems with DVD images. As soon I choose DVD I got the message: Mediaportal has stopped working...
I have tried everything. Fresh OS install. 32 & 64 bits. Disabled all other plugins...Nothing helpes.
Frustrating. I realy want to be able to use this fantastic plugin.

*Edit* I tried an install with MP 1.1 Beta svn: 01-08, and there the crash was gone, if that can help to track the problem.
I got a bunch of other bugs instead, so i can not keep it so.

Maybe I am missing something, or just stupid, but is it TouchScreenSettings.xml or TouchSceenSettings.xml as it is in the RAR-archive?

@christix not sure what is causing you problem DVD and Images run fine on mine, But according to the logs its the progress bar for the current media position so I changed the way the current progress is gathered .

Also can you test the main four buttons with "Mediaportal Always On Top" set to true (think I finally fixed focus issue )

Sa_ddam213. you are magic. With this version the DVD problem is gone. I'm so very greatefull. Do you think you can avoid to
get this bug back in future realeases?

Great initiative, I've just installed the plugin and need to familirize myself with it.

Maybe a stupid question ;-), should I install other drivers also to get my touchscreen to work?
I've got a zalman HD160, and normally I had Imon installed. Today I only installed youi're plugin and activated it in MP config.
Skin is seen on Touchscreen, although I receive an error message in MP, and I can go with the mouse pointer to the buttons and control them. But touchscreen itself doesn't work......

Some tips would be very appreciated
