Mustayaluca - A blended MP Skin [RELEASED] (1 Viewer)

A thing we have learned from StreamedMP (I'm using it since I installed MePo the first time) and this discussion about this skin is that as said before everyone has a different taste.
Maybe it is a good idea to really focus on adjustability (is that an English word?!) so that many things are ajustable by the user using a special config program. This would let everyone change the skin to his or her taste.
Since this skin is still in development, maybe this can be still implemented and even be useful for Psycho Reptile as it can be also easy for him to use.
I would like to hear what others think about this idea. Let me know!

I have spoken with PR and I will be doing the editor, it will be based on the StreamedMP editor and due how the editor was designed configrations will be portable between the 2 skins.

In addition The configuration plugin from StreamedMP can also be included and and expanded to allow a lot of skin configuration to be done from within the GUI, this should cover off the adjustable part and also include the patch system

That looks mint! But on the other hand, integrating the Recently Added in such a streamlined way almost removes the "news flash" feel of the function, you know what I mean? It's tricky stuff, but it's very close to perfect right now IMHO.

That looks perfect, maybe move the main menu bar up a bit or try it in the middle, I would prefer the movie sub menu to not have the recently added movies tho, prefer to have the options like all movies, genres, recently added.

Trevor, just wanted to let you know I appriciate your input with this skin. I have really enjoyed the work you put into StreamedMP and I therefore know what you are capable of and that's why I'm glad you team up with Psycho Reptile. You guys are going to make a really awesome skin, that's for sure. Thanks and good luck!

This is looking really great, i love this type of menu. It looks like the one i am using on XBMC AEON-MQ2
This looks like the skin that could make me move back to MP from XBMC.

So, the Recently Added is only visible when Movies are selected, right? Would it be possible to have the Now Playing album cover smaller than it is in your screens, then when you highlight Music, the cover will become 2 times bigger? Personally, I think it's a bit too big right now.

Another thing that would be cool is instead of having the fanart for the Recently Added movies in a box, the current background image changes to whatever is selected in a smaller info box (see my mockup). If you select MOVIES, this box is shown, and pushing up on the remote lets the user flip through the latest additions. Pressing OK will open Moving Pictures with the Latest Added movie list. I don't know if all of this is possible (yet) though. Please ignore the font used in this very crude mockup.

I like this design but maybe we could add a backdrop or cover preview for the selected movie. Here's a quick mockup:

One of the things I really liked about this skin originally was it's elegant simplicity. I find all these headline ticker-tapes and recently added lists with additional backdrops/cover previews detract from that elegance and just make the home screen far too busy. Just because you can put all this extra information on the home screen doesn't mean you should. Please ensure that all these extra bits and pieces can be disabled.
