The pretty same issue that I have. Havn't seen egon for a long time. Is he still working on the plugin?

eagle

P.S. scanning the Internet again for 0x8004020E I found this:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d.../en-us/imapi/imapi/interacting_with_imapi.asp

this side was referenced by an answer on this question:

http://www.gotdotnet.com/workspaces...threadid=7e48ce3f-4500-4614-98dc-8b85859ae62e

maybe there is a hint to solve the problem :)

I also found this forum-thread in which this particular issue is mentioned

http://hardware.mcse.ms/archive97-2004-10-51334.html

It's a bit outdated, but who knows ... :)

Solved Problems: Burning Video-DVD

Hello MyBurner - User,

I have solved my Problems with MyBurner.

Cause of many People, who have the same problems like me, I describe how I have solved the problems.

History:
- use MP 0.2.1.0 (without SVN) some month
- Update to MP 0.2.2.0 (backup, deinstallation MP 0.2.1.0, installation MP 0.2.2.0, MP-Setup)
- do the things, MP-Setup > plugins > myburner told me (download some Files,...)
- convert a File (= "Frühstücksfernsehen....dvr-ms") with the VideoEditor of MP (=> "Frühstücksfernsehen...mpg")
- try to burn the mpg-file => MyBurner converted something, tries to make a dvd-menu and stopps then (without crash or something else)
- the error.log told me, that the File "...\MediaPortal\Burner\menugen.exe" could not found
- then I have download the plugin myburner, unzipped the rar-file and copied all new Files from support_files\burner to ...\mediaportal\burner. Attention: these Files are not the Files from the "BurnerSupportFiles.rar"
=> the missed file menugen.exe exist now
- try again to burn my mpg-file: now myburner told me "ready", but the result was the same: no ISO-File, no burning-activities
- then I have read in this thread, that the filename shoud not have any special german characters like ä, ö, ü, etc.
- renamed the file "Frühstücksfernsehen.mpg" to "Fruehstuecksfernsehen.mpg" and voila: all things works very well (incl. DVD-Menu and so on).

Important: Your Temp-directory must have at least 12 GB free (better 15 GB)!

I hope that this information can help someone.

Regards
Jo

Is this upto date with the latest svns???

Also is there anyway to run the burning utility at a lower priority?

Cheers Dubstar

Hi, I have downloaded the Plugin from https://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/startdown/154/ and followed the instructions. When I start MP Setup and go to plugins, I get an error:
"An error occured while loading the plugin GUIBurner.SetupForm.
It's incompatible with the current MediaPortal version and won't be loaded"
    I am using Version 0.2.2.0

Take a look at the (huge) red text on the first post of this thread.

Morover, I'm experiencing some difficulty in dvd data recording. It works only if I check the "keep the temp file for debug" in configuration. Without that flag MP won't burn anything, but no error are recorded in the log.

    Ah okay thanks pierremenard.
But using the built-in MyBurner Plugin i can not select any burner. The field is simply gray and deactivated. Even though I have downloaded the needed files.
Can it have anything to do with the jmicron IDE (raid) controller on my Asus P5B?

A good burning plugin is one of the few things that set MP back in the race with Windows MCE. I wish I had the programming skills to create something solid.

    Hey folks,

Sorry for ignoring you all. Life has been pretty busy these last couple of months. I should be able to put a bit more time into the plugin these next couple of weeks as a) im laid up in bed at the minute feeling crap and
    b) im flying to Singapore and Taiwan next week with lots of time on planes (35 hours in fact)

Cant promise anything, but will start by getting rid of the dam XPBurn component....as its crap! In the Windows Resource Kit (that you have all downloaded) there is a cdburn.exe command line app. I will use this instead.
