I think the first one is just an eventfinder knock off, because every single event links to event finder. Event finder would be the better list to scrape because it has venue information on the main page, where as you have to individually scrape every event on this website to get the venue info

The 2nd one looks useful, I'll add it to the list.

Yea you are right about the first one. Also another thought should we include a map?

not sure how a map would be useful in a gig guide, other than a graphical way to select city(s) to include in the guide, or to select city to show. Can u explain?

Well if you are able to find a gig in another city and not sure where it is it would be handy. We country folk have to travel to most gigs lol. I'm sure the gig guide tells you where it is, which should be easily enough search a map. Just a thought.

Could also be a bit much for a HTPC now I think about it.

haha yeah i agree, that would be a bit comprehensive. If you want to drink that night maybe it can lookup the bus timetables too? or maybe send the address to iphone google maps and update your iphone calender... just kidding.. I think that is in the too hard basket!!

Love the concept , It definitely covers everything we will need for a Alpha release:

RoadMap "Plugin Name" Alpha 0.0.0.1
-----------------------------------------------------------
1. Pester Quater for plugin name
2. Finish plugin base (process,window,comm,language,settings files)
3. Add rss support (have code already)
4. Set/Build scraper for "Event finder" (we will add more sites later)
5. Skin files
6. Test Alpha

All happy with that?

I don't want to add all feature straight away as this will aid bug tracking

With the whole design concept done, This will be nice to just write something once and not having to change everything near the end because user's don't like the layout.

Quarter this is me pestering you for a plugin name
(I would love to name the project before I start)

its more for my own personal hobby if nothing else and ill continue to try new things

as far as i can tell ...i believe a 3d progect can be exported out into a WMF project in expression blend and thus making it usable in MP2's skin system?????

as far as that info goes im pretty sketchy

The MP2 SkinEngine will not support 3D for the forseable future. The rendering core is all based on DirectX though so I wouldn't rule it out in the future. It could even be added as a plugin, since the SkinEngine itself is a plugin.

So will you go with the strategy of scrape the eventfinder main list.
then if a user presses enter on an event it will scrape the event page (on demand) to retrieve additional info.

Hmm I had thought Event Finder, Event Guide, MyEvents, Find Events or What's On guide. Trying for a generic name which makes it a bit harder.
