I try the new version for MP 1.2-RC (MyFilms-5.0.2.1332) wich i find in google page ,
All work just fine with Eaxmc ,no problem at all .... hamm seam myfilms run even faster then befure ...
dont know if it's myfilms plugin version or mp 1.2-rc ...

thanks for the feedback - always appreciated.
While I did a lot to make myfilms faster and smoother in the past, I think the latest improvements come from MP1.2RC - a lot of fixes and imrovements to the GUI help overall user experience .

Hi catavolt - I also consider switching to Eax, but I don't want to lose the MyFilms GUI Update features you get with AMC. We even considered making Eax the 'main' catalog supported by MyFilms (so you can update it via MF the same as AMC now) specifically because it supports xml db natively and has many additional fields we want. Alas the development of Eax stopped (other than script updates). The developer zylar disappeared and the source code was never made available. It was a big disappointment!

We are always on the lookout for a better solution. Guzzi already tried to get a couple developers to extend AMC for us (no luck yet). As Guzzi said, MyFilms supports an extended DB schema, and it is possible to use MF as your main DB with those extra fields. However then they are not supported if you use AMC as a standalone app. I often tease Guzzi that we need to turn AMC Updater into a full movie catalog app - AMC Extended or something like that. It terrifies him

@Guzzi - I think you are too modest. Yes 1.2.0 has improved a lot, but while testing in 1.2.0 beta I noticed a significant speed improvement in MyFilms after the changes you made in v1332, just as ysmp reported.

Well, I made some tweaking for the async page load, but tbh I couldn't remember what exactly ;-) - most of significant speed improvements in MyFilms had been done longer ago when introducing async loading.

Well it could be 1.2.0 RC - or could be before v1332. After all the testing/changes I really wouldn't trust my memory! Bottom line is that performance is pretty awesome!

Found the "latest" EAX version to be 2.5 from 2009 - is that correct?

Latest is 3.0.9 - 24 July 2011 (which you want for latest grabbers/scripts and other features). You can download from new site Eax Movie Catalog - link is on the MF Wiki page for Eax also. (though those links are not so easy to see )

With the new version of Mediaportal (1.2.0 RC) i use the new version of my film with skin StreamedMP and AMC with same configuration en particular "Ant identification item" = URL.

All my film is identificated in the skin, with all the information but when i need to start the play of the film i have a message : insert a isk: URL = d:........., yes or not3


Is clear the pluggin not see the . Is probablyan incorrect configuration. Any idea?

Hi Christian,

can you please post your config file (MyFilms.xml) and the logs (myfilms.log and error.log).
If you have your movies stored on HD, the important setting is "Item for Storage File info", that should contain the location of the movie.
If you have only part of the movie in the "Item for storage File Info", you should also check the settings of "Search by Movies Name", "Search in Subfolders" and "Path for Movies File Seach" - as those define, how MyFilms will search for the movies.

The dialog you mentioned only pops up, if MyFilms can't find the movie ("Ant Identification Item") - or if you have e.g. "offline" DVDs registered in your AMC database.
