AW: My Films 5.1 released (19.09.2011) - V5.1.0.1468 (MP 1.2.0)

You mean from within MP gui?

No, together with Myfilsm the amc updater is installed. when i open the mp config i can use the amc updater to import my films. I can also download the amc updater and install them on my system. when i use the myfilm integreted amc updater to import the movies, the field "source" is empty. I set teh updater to write the path to the movie file in this field.

    You might have to check the settings - if "source" is chosen, then yes, it will populate it with the path to the media files.
    If you have problems, it's probably best if you post your config files (MyFilms and aMCupdater), so it can be verified.

    OK, here are the 2 file. Where can i chose "source"? maybe the "myfilms.xml" is the wrong file?

    in some points the wiki and the amc updater-gui don't match. maybe i have an older version?

    @Guzzi
    updated to latest SVN. Import of Beavis and Butt-Head worked fine. I then also tried Global Update of missing covers. But it seems that this option does just nothing... how to get now the missing covers?

    1.) i tried with a complete new import with only 5 movies. Now the covers are found correctly. How do i get them in my "old" / other import?
    You could use AMCupdater and do on "update movies" tab an "update record", "update all" - only choosing "picture" in database fields.
    If you use an imdb type grabber and have IMDB in your catalog, all will be found without interaction.
    If you want to update with other site grabbers, like movie pilot, etc., you might either select "don't ask if no match" (will not update, if no automatic match is possible) or do a selection.
    That way you also can update all "thinkable" stuff in your existing catalog - like filling "holes" of missing data, only update, when there is new or better data available, update ratings, etc.
    Have a look at the examples we've put into wiki, that should make it clearer:
    Update Movies
    2.) 2 fast 2 furious is now named IMDb - 2 fast 2 furios ?!
    IMDB site "bug" - fixed now in svn.
    3.) an import of about 800 movies tooked me 14 hours. Anything i can speed up?
    Yeah - grabbing is definately not optimized for speed - and especially grabber scripts like IMDB-Full or IMDB-OFDB use a lot of "sub pages".
    So speeding up could be by
    - choosing a grabber, that does not use many subpages
    - choose fast sites (neither IMDB nor OFDB gateway are very fast...)
    - wait for somebody doing speed optimizations in the grabber engine ;-)
    tbh, I don't see the speed improvements too urgent due to the fact, that you usually don't do updates for the whole catalog each day - further, there is lot of ppl using AMC to grab - but yes, it is not too fast ... ;-)
    If you're interested to see what takes long, open the grabebr interface and do a preview on details tab - at the bottom of the results window, I have added stopwatch results about what took how long - doesn't speedup things, but gives an idea what takes so long...

    i pressed the x at the log window of the AMC updater. How to get it back? Even pressing show / hide log doesn't bring it back ;-(
    hmmm, just tried here, and I get it back when pressing the button "show"... so I need more details, when this does happen ...

    Hi Taky,
    according to your configs, you've chosen "URL" field as source - so you should change that to "Source" field, if you want that field populated.
    Re Wiki: Possible, that there are some pages already updated for next release - we did some improvements there. Sorry, that's a bit confusing especially for someone starting with it - but it is hard to get docs up to date anyway. We try our best ;-)

    Try this:

    open AMCU->press "Hide Log"->close AMCU->open AMCU->press "Show Log".

    The log window should be visible at the default position (bottom).

    Thats what i have done on my last test. Now it works, thx. Maybe because i have written "source" instead of "Source"?

    It is stored in (german XP in this example):
    <drive>:\\Dokumente und Einstellungen\<username>\Lokale Einstellungen\Anwendungsdaten\AMCUpdater\...<version>
