I don't have a catalog at the moment!? I just used the default option when I tried to follow the guide.

I've used moving pictures for years but decided to try my films as I think I can have a centralised catalog so all my MP clients can use that?

So when I watch a film in my living room then go to the bedroom it will then show on there as watched. Which as far as I know moving pictures doesn't do.

Thanks

    AW: My films plugin help

I myself don't use MyFilms (I use MovingPictures) and therefore I have no experience with MyFilms. I'm sorry but I think I can't help you with this issue.
Hopefully a experienced MyFilms user can help you with your questions.

MyFilms is able to manage some external database. Maybe your best choice is AMC ( antp.be ). Also you can create it using amc updater

Also the tutorials pages are restricted even when logged in
They should be accessible - I am in the process of changing over to our own custom MP templates and something might have got mixed up. Can you check again? If you still cannot access them, can you let me know if it is all tutorials or just some? It's quite odd that other pages display but not those

As Holzi said (and I didn't think he was being sarcastic at all!) - My Films is designed for users who already have extensive movie catalogs. You can create a Ant Movie Catalog database using My Films, but it is a lot to learn if you have never used/created one before. If you don't need/want a movie catalog, and just wish to access movie info and play movies in MediaPortal, I agree with Hozi - try Moving Pictures, or the built-in MP Videos feature.

If you are still interested to try My Films, you can start with the FAQ entry: No Movie Catalog (if you can access FAQs ;)) and go from there. We will try to help you out as much as we can.

EDIT: Sorry you posted too fast - I see you already use Moving Pictures. Yes you are correct My Films can manage centralized data, so when you import new movies they are instantly available to all clients along with your covers and fanart. Yes you can even track watched status for multiple users or support multiple databases for different users or different types of movies (like personal videos, documentaries, etc that you cannot lookup on the Internet). Moreover, you can update data in the GUI, either scan/add films, updated selected fields for the currently selected film, find and update incomplete data and a whole lot more. Then when you want to get real fancy (like z3us) you can customize grabbers, use AMCU updater to update fields or records or all records, aso. With My Films the sky's the limit, but it helps if you learn to fly first :)

Arr thanks i'll try and create one. I have quite a few films so need a catalog now.

The only pages i can get are the ones under Guide Contents, the rest are restricted.

I have a look at the link you sent 'No Movie Catalouge'

    thanks

I understand poeple put lots of time and hard work into creating instructions and programs. So thanks, sorry if i came across funy to Holzi. I know people often ask without looking first, and it is anoying yes when the same question keeps poping up all the time. Anyway keep up the good work and i'll have a look at getting the catalog cretaed.
    :D

    Can anyone else confirm that?

Can you access the other tabs, but just not the items on them? Do you get the same error if you try to access the Centralized Data tutorial page directly?

You really need access to the tutorials as most customization and advanced options are described there. So let's get that sorted first ;)

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...
