WeeToddDid - Where is your receipe import program?

Although I am busy with the MyTVSeries plugin, i have quickly made a small C# application to show how to import from recipeCenter. You can find the source codes here

I'm sorry that you went through the effort. I thought I understood from a past post that you already had a small app already built that would import from the recipeCenter. If I had known that you were going to create a new app I would have said wait.

But, I do thank you for your effort and your speedy work. Thanks for all your contribution to MediaPortal.

There's missing a reference 'C1.C1Zip' - could you attach this, link to it or include a compiled version of the app. Please

As I told Wee yesterday, i've mailed the recipecenter.com guys to see, if they wanted to work with us...I mean provide an easy access to the data, as it's free anyway, and in return get a logo or something in the plugin.

I have a strange thing with My Recipies. I used the links on this forum to get some of the mealmaster recipies and successfully imported them in, but the format of the is a little off. I looked at the text file and it's formatted properly, but for some reason on the import it's messing up. Screenshot is below.

    # possibility to add pictures (mealmaster has no pictures)
    # a scoring possibility for recipes 1-5 stars or sth
    # an online recipe database for the mp users (with scorings?language?)
    # an optimized online database, because with mealmaster you will get an enourmous amount of catagories. The subcatagories Gucky introduced are good, but the recipes need to be edited.
    ...

Along with tomtom's feature requests - I'd like to see the following:
    * weekly meal planner with grocery list, maybe joining with myPlanner?
    * possibility of calorie counting, for those on that type of diet?

Is this plugin still under development? If so, I wrote I small program and can accept recipe files from http://www.RecipeCenter.com.

You can easily build a search engine for your plugin that send searches to the website and automatically import the repice into your database. Let me know....

WeeToddDid - I tried your program (has a nice layout) but wasn't able to understand how to import the data into the recipe plugin. Could you help me understand how to perform a transfer of a recipe?

    Hi folks,

I've contacted the guys at RecipeCenter.com to ask them, if they could be interessted in sharing their information with the MediaPortal community - and guess what....they were excited, and would like this to happen.

So they'll contact me with information on how to get the information - i.e. through a webservice of some kind - and then we only need a developer to "put it inside" to make it work...no need to download, import etc. The information will/should be available right from inside MP 8)

The only thing they would like in return is a banner or something - my thought was to put it in the plugin - i.e. "Information sponsored by RecipeCenter.com" and then a banner or something....

Any thoughts on the whole thing? and maybe a developer, that would like the assignment. The current source code for the MyRecipes plugin are located in the download section at our homepage - www.team-mediaportal.com

LordMessi - This sounds GREAT! I hope an aspiring developer goes for this.

Over here in USA (I don't know if it broadcast in other locations across the globe) with the new NBC TV program Celebrity Cooking Showdown coming on broadcast TV and with other programs, like FoodNetwork with thier cable hit series the Iron Chef. Well, if this could be quickly incorporated I think this would be like getting on the band wagon. This should REALLY add a big plus with the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor).

Regarding the banner - why not use thiers:
