I'm confused on a single point...

I read in the first post (notes) that since version 1, third party viewers are not required anymore. Did I read that wrong?

When I click on the channel link in the list, it asks me how I want to open the link.

What am I missing?

Thanks

Since the latest version VLC isn't required anymore on the Server PC, you still need a program to watch the video stream. VLC is one option and I'm sure players like MPC will play it just fine also.

I don't think (could be wrong) windows media player works but can't hurt to try.

Hopefully the next release will be ready soon which should add a lot of diversity to your options.

- In short yes you still need a player to watch the video.

    Hi,

    Lovely to see such a tool I was searching for. However, for me it isn't working. I have a fresh MediaPortal 1.0.2 install with the StreamTv 1.0.2. When I watch TV in MediaPortal, it's working fine. However, when i browse to the ChannelList.xml file, it only shows this:

    Code:
    <channelListing>
       <information>

TvServer

MediaPortal TvServer Channel Listing

             Rights reserved until I have determined what needs to be put here.

       </information>
       <Channels/>
    </channelListing>

    It's missing all channels. The channels are configured in the TvServer configuration, I can watch them in the client and they stay in the MySQL database of MediaPortal. What can I do?

    Sorry Oxan not sure from that what your trouble is, maybe the .xslt file is buggered.

    Anyway I have some interesting news.

    The next version of StreamTv is ready :)

    The bad news, I need to make an installer for it. The new design is harder to work with and if I hand it out as is I'm going to get every 2nd person asking how to install it.

    That said I was wondering if anyone wanted to help in creating a installer for StreamTv?

    I'll shortly put up a copy zipped up and I'll re-write the main post.

    Some of the features in the new release.

    * Configurable LiveTv transcoding.
    * Plugin Design.
    * Has a wwwroot folder where any file in that folder (or sub folders) can be sent over HTTP (allowing for complete html web pages).

    As you can tell from that list I'm a horrible salesman, anyway I'm sure a few people will have a look at it and see some potential in it.

    same here, so StreamTV generates only an empty website:confused:

    Which version of StreamTv are you using vel_tins?

    Also what version of MediaPortal?

    Give 1.0.3.0 a try.

    I have completely deleted the StreamTV version 1.0.2.0 and did a complete reinstall of 1.0.3.0. However, the problem is still there. I haven't modified the xslt files that came with StreamTv.

    My setup is the same as vel_tins, with two differences:
    - I'm using the 1.0.2 release of MediaPortal. I will give the 1.1.0 Beta 1 a try later today.
    - I have a 32-bit Windows XP (SP3 with dvbfix ), so it's installed in C:\Program Files\...

    EDIT:
    Well, I have found the bug. When i request the ChannelList.xml with parameter ?group=All Channels, it is working. I think the CheckChannelGroup() call in Manager.cs:138 is returning false when no group (empty string) supplied. I haven't a VS environment available here, so I can't debug further now. Maybe a workaround can be to add a test for an empty string in CheckChannelGroup().

    However, when requesting the TimeShift.m2ts file, I get a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.

    I tried this:
    Code:
    http://127.0.0.1:8888/Tvserver/ChannelList.xml[COLOR="Red"]/?group=All Channels[/COLOR]

    MP TV server crashes...

    Code:
    http://127.0.0.1:8888/Tvserver/ChannelList.xml[COLOR="Red"]?group=All Channels[/COLOR]
    nothing, only empty site.

    Then I made a new channel scan and created groups, nothing only emty site
    (8888 is my server port)

    In which group are your channels? All Channels is the default of MP, but you can change it... If it's in All Channels, I don't know what the problem...
