Hi,

I've updated to the latest QT Alternative codec and klite codec full codec pack (which includes Haali Media Splitter). The same error ossurs. Also, get the same error on another PC with MP installed, so its not limited to my main HTPC either.

Any ideas what the problem is anyone? I really want the trailers plugin to work :0(

Cheers,
Colin

Codec packs are not great for fine control over codecs that are used in MediaPortal.

I can play all local files of any type absolutely fine. Also, the old My Trailers used to work ok as well. So I don't think its just because I use a codec pack. Must be something else? Its very strange.....

The old my trailers didn't play mov files btw... but you are right this is strange problem. I don't force a specific graph when playing the file i just call MP's g_Player.PlayVideoStream(url, videoName). For me and most it works but for some it doesn;t.. Maybe it's the version of Haali Media Splitter? My version is 1.7.x.

Yes, the old MyTrailers play mms streams with a wmv file. very different from anything that can be done now : )

Maybe you could try just the straight g_player.Play(url) . . . that is what I had to do on the MyTrailers rework to get it to work. . . but then again, I was using the vlc player.

    AppleTrailers Plugin Test3

I have attached an updated version of my Apple Trailers plugin. It's still a folder list based interface without any fancy stuff, no progress bars or background workers. The presentation structure is exactly like on Apple Trailers (i'm using their json feeds and some extra logic to get all the available trailers)

Navigation = simple : Provider (Apple Trailers) -> Folders and/or Movies-> Choose Trailer + Play

    Known bugs:

    - Navigating to previous lists isn't always working properly.
    - Genres and Studio's are not getting filtered right now (they just return all from the feed).

Also i still don't have control on how the video gets played (seems like direct streaming without buffering and/or downloading) i haven't got into that part yet. I just deliver the trailer url to the MP PlayStream method for now but I will be working on this aswell. Still have to figure out why some can't play the videos.

When these bugs are fixed and i'm happy with the basic navigation and provider interface i will begin adding the user friendly stuff ;)

I'm getting a 'Can't play video, please try at a later time' message. Is this the general message most people get when they say it won't play? Trailers from the website play fine.

No, how do I do that

Yep, same error message here and with latest test 3 version. Although I think you didnt expect that to work as there were no fixes for this yet ;0) If you look at the logs it mentions something about pins not connected, but I thought that was for TV cards and not media streams. But then I don't kow anything about how all this works, lol.....

    Cheers,
    Colin
