i will go on a 12 day vacation starting on the 30th.. I will release anoter update for My Trailers (and the current source) before then but i don't think it'll be an .mpi yet. I'm also doing some coding for moving pictures so my time is limited this week.

Is there any substantial difference between the two plugins (yours and ArmandP's)?

It's working now so I guess I'll leave it with that.

I think the quality of the apple trailers is better that the yahoo's ...someone correct me if i'm wrong
May well be, but for European people, the available bandwidth is very limited with Apple. Yahoo is way more generous with bandwidth in Europe and their movies always run fine, where Apple's movies stutter and take ages to load..
With this in mind, it may be a good idea to buffer the chosen movie first, and show it only when a substantial part has loaded.

poktor, were you able to watch the trailers on the My Trailers that I was working on? I am currently in the process of trying to get this working on the 'new' My Trailers. (Although with some difficulty.)

The only trailers i was able to watch decently, were the " small" sized ones. Everything bigger stalled within a few seconds or right from the start. HD was no option at all. Bummer. I have a 20Mbit connection, so i should be able to watch everything without a single hickup, including HD. For now, i resorted to installing the " Apple trailer downloader", which is a decent workaround. Although it's not a real "My Trailers"-plugin and has no GUI at all, it lets me watch all trailers, even the HD ones. This give you the time to implement buffering/background downloading in the plugin... ;)

Poktor, i have a 20mbit connection and i can watch up to 720p without buffering.. even some 1080p work flawlessly. The buffering is an important issue i want to implement but it will be somewhat hard to get that in at this moment. I want to first concentrate on the overall plugin. A download and play option would be the first on my list as that will not be as hard as trying to implement buffering. As a workaround you can use the VLC plugin to play the trailers in which you can setup buffering for the time being.
