MyWorldMap plugin V 1.0 RC5 (Google Maps and Virtual Earth) (1 Viewer)

Hi all.

My development time is very limited in the moment (and the weather is pretty good as well ), but I want to give you a brief lookout of what I will implement next thought.

It is already mentioned in the todo's list... but not in detail.

The very next thing is the "sms style text insertion", because I hate the fact that I have to "pick" the letters via the navigation keys when using the remote.
What I plan is a mode like you may know it from your cell phone... pressing the 2 button once means "a" ... pressing it twice means "b" and so on...

After this I will implement the placemarks save and restore dialog.
I'm not sure if I should store the placemarks in a database or if I should use a folder structure instead... what would you prefer? Currently I lean towards the folder structure, but maybe you have some better ideas.

Iam surprised that nobody mentioned that the google maps function (at least roads and hybrid) does not work anymore. The reason for this seams to be a slight change of the urls that google offers (there is a versioning is the urls and this version has changed).

I plan to upload a new version soon.

One request: Please make it optional (or disabled) to hide the music overlay on the maps (when playing music), it's taking too much space and looks weird .

Mhh...
That is strange because in version 0.3.1 that is already done.
Are you sure you are using the skin files from that version?

Normally there should be a "<allowoverlay>no</allowoverlay>" in the MyWorldMap.xml ... this disallows overlays of any kind.

Yeah, you're right lkuech! I just forgot to copy the xml files for the 0.3.1 version, now it works! Thank you

I don't know if it's possible, but there's a really cool plugin for google earth - yes, I know you use google maps instead - for wetter.com http://www.wetter.com/v2/?SID=&LANG=DE&LOC=1410&LOCFROM=9026
Maybe it's possible to build something like this? A very cool combination of MyWorldMap and Weather(plugin)?

Well, sooner or later I will try to integrate an overlay support. Maybe it will also possible to use kml file then... but that is a really complex topic ... so, no promise

Great plugin!! But i'm getting problems using the arrow keys... when i press the up arrow the top bar is displayed and i can't move the map... how can i disable the top bar for being showed??

Hi patricon.

I know this one... It's already in the known bugs (first thread).
Currently the only chance is to disable the topbar plugin completely. I will investigate this problem in a later version.
