Tested also The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (no BJ-D) and does not work (same problem, dark screen).

I have the suspect that discs that do not work have regional setting enabled, could this be? How can I verify this?

A little question, as it will go on. Will it be included in Mediaportal when it has a stable status ? Or will it be a Plugin ? :D

I have the same disk (or a sample of it). Seems that it works with LAV video when CUDA is used, but has a small issue with the non-CUDA mode - root menu background is missing. Could BDReader.ax (most likely) or LAV side bug.

Really hard to say why it would fail for you more than that.

BDs (that I have seen) will have a special video clip that they will show when the region setting is not matching. Configure.exe has a region setting under BD settings.

Included, as it requires some changes on the core functionality in MP itself. But when will it be included is pretty much up to the testing it receives :)

I've set region B as it should be but the reader still reported Region A to another player (is this setting recorded by the hardware BD reader? I think yes, because the other software player says I can only change it 5 times and then becomes permanent).

Anyway I have CUDA enabled in LAVF (CUVID setting?).

I only have LAVF filters installed and use LAVF audio and video codecs, do I need any other specific codec?

Will also test more with other settings of the video codec and see if I can make this disc work.

    Hello,

few weeks ago i tested some BD`s with Version 1 and see the Menu background, but no "overlay?" for selection on any tested BD.
What I mean, i cannot see a Menu item for selection in the Menu, only the Background. I can navigate and select blind, but this is not so optimal. Supports Nativ BD MePo version VMR9 on XP??? or only EVR for BD Menü??.. When you say, normaly VMR9 will work, i start a new
    test session
    Thanks

    Flo

By any change do you have the VC1 support disabled in LAV video decoder? At least it is not accepting the connection and MS DMO video decoder is used.

I bought another BD drive yesterday for testing and started today with some discs.

tourettes: maybe could you add a hint to the first post to not forget enableing vc1 support with the LAV decoder.
i installed lav and by default vc1 is disabled. most of the blurays (like moon) start playback, even show the main menu, but then mediaportal crashes if you select something.
    working fine with vc1 enabled.

I began a google docs list of my tested bds.
Will add that to the wiki site once i'm finished testing (by the end of this weekend).

    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XgAUAfGKV_xRK5b835QXb9Hp4qb-EqlOKV6vDw2bmNg/edit

and the log files if needed: Index of /mediaportal/BD_test_logs

    :edit:
tested 29 discs today, more tomorrow.
all non-java discs worked fine, except some minor subtitle glitches for some disc.
and "hellboy us" had missing button effects, so it was hard to select languages/subtitles.
some bd-j discs worked aswell, but i assume bd-j wasn't really used for the important menu parts.

No it's enabled and other discs work correctly.

I will try to make a sample of this disc, maybe it's different from the one you have.

Edit: you were right... vc1 was enabled in settings but not under format. Enabling it made the disc work perfectly..

will try again with the other discs that failed and see if they work now. I will edit the posts accordingly.
