Retested all discs that did not work and now they all work perfectly...

Do you think it will be possible to make this feature work with other video decoders? The problem is that LAVF does only support CUDA, it seems, and many have ATI on their systems.

Another thing I noticed is that sometimes mediaportal stucks when going forward with skip steps (not soo often)... I will try to reproduce and post logs...

I did some testing with different Blu-rays.

    A Christmas Carol 3D (BD-J) - Title OK
Monsters vs Aliens 3D (BD-J) - Title OK
Kingdom of Heaven - Menu OK and Popup menu works!
Walhalla Rising 3D - Menu OK - although selection menu is not animated

A Nightmare on Elm Street 6 / 7 - Same behavior as v1. With VC1 enabled in LAV Video the New Line Cinema trailer displays but MP GUI is shown after selecting a movie to play. Title OK. TMT5 works but PowerDVD and WinDVD have trouble even starting playing the disc.
Tangled 3D - Returns to MP after selecting language. It's supposed to load 00054.m2ts. Title OK.

    Wiki updated.

First many thanks for the work on this feature. It's very welcome :D

    Re: AW: Native Blu-ray support

few weeks ago i tested some BD`s with Version 1 and see the Menu background, but no "overlay?" for selection on any tested BD.
What I mean, i cannot see a Menu item for selection in the Menu, only the Background. I can navigate and select blind, but this is not so optimal. Supports Nativ BD MePo version VMR9 on XP??? or only EVR for BD Menü??.. When you say, normaly VMR9 will work, i start a new
    test session

VMR9 has not been tested by ne at all during the whole development time. I did a really quick testing with VMR9 and it seem to work on some level (menus are drawn correctly - but those are actually drawn by the Skin Engine so it shouldn't be VMR9 that causes those to be broke).

Seeking doesn't seem to work with VMR9 (stalled picture). Also I had a deadlock on some clip change.

Currently VMR9 it not "supported" (not sure if I have time in later phases...).

tourettes: maybe could you add a hint to the first post to not forget enableing vc1 support with the LAV decoder.
i installed lav and by default vc1 is disabled. most of the blurays (like moon) start playback, even show the main menu, but then mediaportal crashes if you select something.
    working fine with vc1 enabled.

I added a small note in the 1st post about enabling the VC1 in LAV.

tested 29 discs today, more tomorrow.

Feel free to update the wiki :p

all non-java discs worked fine, except some minor subtitle glitches for some disc.

Would be nice to receive a sample from some BD that has subtitle issues. What kind of issue(s) there were?

and "hellboy us" had missing button effects, so it was hard to select languages/subtitles.

Could you upload a sample of that? Libbluray is not supporting animations in menus (yet) so maybe it is those.

Other decoders are already supported (but not as well tested). V3 will fix some compatibility issues with different video decoders. V3 will also enable dynamic format changes between video formats (but it will be LAV only feature as other decoders doesn't seem to be have nicely with on-the-fly video format changes - at least I cannot figure out how to get them to work and as they are closed source...).

Another thing I noticed is that sometimes mediaportal stucks when going forward with skip steps (not soo often)... I will try to reproduce and post logs...

Skip steps are known to cause deadlock randomly on V2 (at least when skipping rapidly). This will be hopefully fixed in V3.

Walhalla Rising 3D - Menu OK - although selection menu is not animated

Libbluray doesn't support animations in menus currently. Hopefully it will at some day.

It is a bit alarming when PowerDVD & WinDVD fail to play a disk. It might be wrongly mastered (who knows). It probably is the same as with 4/5 (where libbluray gives up). Lets retest when the 4/5 works.

Tangled 3D - Returns to MP after selecting language. It's supposed to load 00054.m2ts. Title OK.

Is it pure 3D disk (no 2D version of the movie)? That might explain it. If not then please upload a sample and I'll have a look on it.

I can update the wiki - not sure why you dont have an access (maybe not enough posts in the forum?)

    Drive Angry

Menu Yes, but menu is only displayed. After pressing a button it returns back to MediaPortal.
    Title Yes

Could you provide a sample of this BD?

Will do, tomorrow. With some more BDs tested.

    The subtitle issues I had:
I was able to select and display all subtitles when I chose them through the MediaPortal menu.
But when selecting subtitles with the BluRays Popup Menu it did not have an effect at all. No subtiles were displayed.

I had another issue with the Popup Menu when changing languages.
My default language is german, after changing the language to english through the Popup Menu and going back to the main menu of the BD (which stopped the movie)
and then continuing the movie again, the audio language was changed back to german. The popup menu still said english, though.
To change to english again i had to select german first and then select english again (since english was already selected).

Had that particular error with the Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2 Disc 1, but haven't tested the same on other discs:
    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XgAUAfGKV_xRK5b835QXb9Hp4qb-EqlOKV6vDw2bmNg/edit

and "hellboy us" had missing button effects, so it was hard to select languages/subtitles.
Could you upload a sample of that? Libbluray is not supporting animations in menus (yet) so maybe it is those.
    Uploaded the Hellboy Bluray.

btw: HJsplit didn't work directly on the BD drive, i always got an error.
So i made a quick batch skript with the help os sfk ( how to copy parts of a binary file: sfk partcopy ) which automatically copys the first 50mb of all files bigger than 50mb to a folder specified. If there is interest i can upload it.

    Just out of curiosity:

Can we safely assume that localised versions do not differ?
Otherwise I would recommend that the Wiki is also traciking at least the region code.

    Cheers,
