I do not have the problem with choosing the profile, like you I only had to select it once. The problem I have is I use the remote to make my selections from my instant queue and when the show starts I have the arrow for the mouse on the screen and I have to use the mouse to move the arrow off the screen. If there could be an option to choose to have a cursor (arrow) or not would be great.

    ive done some testing
the profile check happens everytime in ie10/windows 8
it does not happen in chrome
    or older versions of ie9
there appears to be no setting in ie 10 to correct this
can your app call chrome instead?
or allow focus to the popup so the remote can select the profile?

    Hi!
I want to address this, since the cursor is annoying but different people prefers different setting.

In previos version of NFplayer the cursor was hidden, so you can grab older version from my first post.
I will prepare solution that will hide cursor if not used.

Hi I just tested player in Windows8 PRO and behavior is the same, profile choice is remembered.
My best gues would be, that netflix uses cookie to store your profile choice.
Try to look here (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/block-or-allow-cookies) on how to enable cookies.

You can also test to temporarily lower security setting in IE, just to see whether it helped.

My first unofficial version used chrome engine, though it had 50Mb of libraries which needed to be present.

Let me know how it went.

i thought so at first too
but in order to test properly
    close all ie windows

    cookies are enabled
i have even added netflix.com to unconditional allow list for cookies

if you leave just one open
    it remembers your profile choice
but not if all windows get closed

i have tested on multiple machines
    including at work

i even disabled all security settings
all are set to lowest possible

    just be be clear
i am NOT blaming your plugin
this issue happens directly in IE with or without your plugin

    that being said
it does happen on any machine
if all ie windows are closed

would it not be possible to give the remote focus to the pop-up profile selection
    i dont mind selecting it
but currently, without a mouse, i cant

any chance i can get your unreleased version at 50mb that uses chrome
    as chrome works without issue?

Just tried to clear all cokies cached data in win8 installation.

When first run from plugin it asked for login information, later on for profile selection.
When I choosed it said something went wrong and disapeared.
Did not return when i tried it again.

I dont have chrome version right now available, there were some errors with focusing silverlight component.
I can give it a try, but it wount be available anytime soon :-(.

    when you ran this test
did you close ALL ie windows after your first login

i have now tried all my machines
    several machines at work
    friends machines
    relatives machines

all of them return the same result

if all ie windows are closed
    when you return to netflix.com
it remembers your password but not the selected profile
    you must select it again

is your windows installation 32 or 64 bit
all machines tested for me were 64bit

    **NEW**

are you using ie desktop or ie metro
my issues are in ie desktop
if i use ie metro it remembers my selection
but ie desktop, which is used by the plugin
    continues to have an issue

this remains the same on all machines

I am also having the profile issue. Are we sure that it is calling on IE by default or is it calling on our default browser? I will try different scenarios when I get home but Firefox is my default browser and I do not allow any cookies except for the ones I manually put in. I have IE to allow all cookies and still get the error. I will report back any findings. Thanks

its not using the default browser, my default is chrome
as when i go directly into chrome
it remembers everything and loads without asking

also mightypolo has stated that it does use ie and to use chrome it would need extra libraries[DOUBLEPOST=1378830245][/DOUBLEPOST]i wonder if it could come down to level of encryption used by ie
if i remember correctly 128bit is us/canada (north america) only
therefore other contries would be 64bit or less

    any chance this is it?

    UPDATE 2

i have now tried in ie, chrome, firefox, opera, safari
all browsers except for ie work properly
as soon as i use ie i must select a profile
    ALL other browsers work fine

we now have another user reporting the same issue
and i have confirmed the same issue on multiple other machines that are not mine

i have even disabled any and all security settings in ie as well as add explicit cookie trust for the entire netflix domain
i also tried adding it to compatibility sites
    nothing helps

    That is realy strange.
    1. I found article, you might already tried. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2710013)
    2. Can you ask for support Netflix in your country?

I will give some thought to embeding chrome again.
btw: Chrome browser is much much faster then IE when starting, so there might be benefit in changing it.

    Have a good time!
p.s. In which countries are you guys?
