My contry does have support
im in canada
we have full queue and profiles support

yes i have read that article including many others
and tried all suggestions
i even tried to upgrade to win 8.1 to get ie11, this broke it completely.
it seems that in ie11 netflix uses html5 and not silverlight
oddly enough in win 8.1 netflix works in ie with some degree of issues but not in your plugin

for the time being i replaced my pc in the livingroom (win 8.1) with the one from the family room (win 8)
i am now able to use your plugin again
but still have the issue with the profiles, as previously mentioned

and yes, i agree Chrome is the fastest at loading and browsing

Again. i dont have any netflix restrictions in my country (Canada)
we have had queue and profiles for a while

@MightyPolo: I like to thanks you for creating this plugin!

I think having NetFlix inside Mediaportal is awesome and will give Mediaportal as a product really good PR.

Personally I'm new to Netflix, as it is online in my country since today! I allready created a profile and having one month Netflix for free now. The first thing I did was installing your plugin, but I'm having troubles with connecting my account to your plugin. Running films and series in my browser is working fine, so my account is allready good. When I'm in the configuration of the plugin I press "link". Than I sign-in to the link I get and I confirm; "Yes, link this account"

    After doing that I'm getting;

powermarcel, you've successfully linked NetflixAlpha to your Netflix account.

So far so good I would say..

Than the configuration is asking; "Did you enter your credentials?" so I click Yes.

Than troubles begin. I'm getting an error; There was an error while retreiving your autorization info The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

Do you have any idea what is going wrong? I have tried InternetExplorer 11 and Chrome to link it, but same result.

In the logs are some things to see about the plugin, but I don't understand it.

I hope you can help me.

BTW: Don't know how good the skinfiles for Titan are now, maybe they are allready pretty awesome, but if I'm getting this plugin working I will help you with the skinfiles for Titan. :)

    Cheers,
    Marcel (from the Netherlands)

first of all: Thanks for the plugin!

I am suffering from the same error as Powermarcel10. Checking credentials result in 400 bad request. However when I press the diagnose button, it shows that it can connect to my netflixaccount. As it turns out, mediaportal is able to show me series and films.
What I find particularly strange is that the search query results also in movies that are not available in our country. Can I change this? (in the netflixplugin configuration there is a greyed out US dropdownbox (how to activate?)) Also is it possible to browse through recommended films and series, like in the browser? When I open de plugin only the title search catalog shows.

    Cheers!

I'm also able to watch videos now but I'm only able to browse video's/movies.. I read the whole topic now and see that it has maybe something to do with the european API that is different than the US one.

Some other thing that is too bad is that Netflix is still using it's own player. Is there really no way to get this plugin working on MP's videoplayer? I think that would be difficult due to restictions. DRM, silverlight, those kind of things right?

But maybe there is good news because Netflix is going to use HTML5 instead of Microsoft's Silverlight.. READ

Wil this change anything to this? Browsing videos and play them right inside Mediaportal's own videoplayer would been totally awesome.. But I don't know if that is possible..

    Hi Marcel and powermarcel :)
Public API of Netflix is only supported in US and Canada.
    That means:
    1. You can get bad request error since the authorization is disabled on Netflix side. I assume that they are geograficly load balancing their servers.
    2. You will see content which is not supported in your country (Only US & CA) some might play, some wount.
    3. Search function will still work, returning only US & CA content.

Netflix is not planning to expand their public API to other countries.
But please, let them know that you want them to expand their API, there is no other way :)

I wanted to implement this plugin so people from Europe will aleso be able to use it, but Netflix API Implements only US & CA country flag.

But if you realy want to use this plugin, search this thread and you will find link for service which will allow you yo use US netflix.
Also if you search this thread, you will find users from DK having exact same issue.

    Sorry guys.

    Thanks @MightyPolo!

I was allready affraid about this.. Let's hope that Netflix will change this protocol in the future..

And what about the internal videoplayer? Do you think that it will be possible to use MP's videoplayer in the future when Netflix will make the step to HTML5 instead of Silverlight?

@MightyPolo: How does the App on my Samsung TV do this without access to the API (from the Netherlands)?

    That is good point!
I bet that Samsung is using some other API, which we dont have documentation for.
I would be realy interested to see tcp dumps from communications.

Same case with mobile phones / tablets they also works in you countries.
Those / That api is not documented, so the only thing what we can do is reverse engineer them :-/

I've just installed a fresh copy of MP 1.4 and then the Netflix plugin (MPI file from first post on this thread) Although I'm based in Ireland - I'm using the US version of NF. When I first accessed MePo->NetflixAlpha->Recommendations->Breaking Bad It pulled back the Seasons and Episode info. But ever since then it just gives the error "Remote Server returned and Error (404) Not Found" when I click on Breaking Bad or any other Season/Episode type programs. Accessing movies works fine.

I couldn't see any errors in the logs. Is the plugin logging somewhere other than the default MePo logging directory?

    Thanks

    Ian
