I believe that is a function of your skin (whether it allows editing of your main level menus).
If you go into media portal configuration and highlight the netflix plugin you should see the buttons below that say "in home" or " in plugins". Click on the "in home button and then the ok button to exit config.
Not many skins actually support the netflix plugin. I prefer the Black Glass Nova customization I am working on as it puts it front and center on the basic home screen.
Here is a link to a post regarding this customization complete with xml for black glass nova. It is icomplete, if you would like the images/files needed to make it work, just let me know.

Since over a year my MP sometimes stucks while showing the welcome screen. It started once a week now it happens every second time...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo.
