Timezones

Hi Angusman
Some more info on the timezome issues. The time zoone info will stick for a normal channel but not for a channel duplicate. I was goinging to use this to make a W +2 as there isn't one in your list.

Also I have most of it working now except for one rather major issue. The grabber defines all start times for each foxtel as the same for every program on that day. All the data appears in the downloaded files it's just the start time for every show is midnight. Hence there is no useable data once imported into Mediaportal :)

Thanks
Jenny

example
- <programme start="20090501000000 +0800" stop="20090501005000 +0800" channel="W">

The problem of forgetting special timezones for channel duplicates is fixed.

Check the download page for version 3.5 which fixes this problem.

I cannot reproduce the "always starts at midnight" problem.
PM me with more details if you like.

I discovered the problem that caused the "all programs start at midninght" problem.
It was a network change and required a big alteration of the grabbing routine.

Version 3.6 solves the problem, and adds some extra channels that have been requested, as well as solving the problem of saving special timezones for channel duplicates.

All users MUST update to 3.6 or greater or they will not get valid data.

    How to get EPG updating?

I am just new to Mediaportal, and I am wondering how do I get the Guidedigger XML file into Mediaportal? Where should the file Guidedigger produces be saved to, and how do I make that info the default info that MP uses?

I have Guidedigger working ok, but am at a bit of a loss with getting it into Mediaportal.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    ernal :)

Have a look at this...I think it works but I don't have mediaportal to test with.

    TV-Server/Configuration/Plugins/XmlTv - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

You need to set guidedigger to save at the location in the link above, and name the file "tvguide.xml"

If you are using Vista in its default setup you must know that it does not allow programs (including guidedigger) to write anything into the "Program Files" folders unless the program is run with administrator priveliges. Either select a different location to save the XML (such as the "users-application data" area) or make sure it runs with admin priveliges.

If any more experienced people can improve on my answer please do so.

    Hi angusmann,

Version 3.6 works perfectly now - thank you very much for your quick response .... :D

I think that the last 4 entries in the GuideDigger Setup (select channels) should have the letters "7HD" in front of them (Cairns, Adelaide, Melbourne and Geelong, and Perth), so they read 7HD Cairns, etc?

    Grrr!!!

    Not enough proof-reading !

The channels now have 7HD in front of them for easier identification.

Version 3.7 is now available - just with this change.
